Re: Strange corruption issue - MakeMKV's fault or bad HDD?
~ on blurays it has a hash table and checks the files are correct as it copies. not sure if it checks before or after it writes to disk ~ The hash table can only verify the integrity of the files on the optical disc itself. It cannot be used to check for file copy errors once the content has been d...

Re: Strange corruption issue - MakeMKV's fault or bad HDD?
Oh I see. Can I ask what software you use for testing? I was looking at this one called FreeFileSync to verify the actual contents of files are the same between 2 discs. I think first it checks to see if the number of bytes are the same, and if they are then it will start comparing contents but I c...

Re: Strange corruption issue - MakeMKV's fault or bad HDD?
i write 1.2TB over usb a day Hmm interesting. That is a lot of video and there is no way you could be watching 1.2TB a day so maybe you should scan the files for errors with ffmpeg afterwards. It's a similar situation where you buy a DVD box set and think you've got it safely but until you actual p...

Re: Strange corruption issue - MakeMKV's fault or bad HDD?
I had considered that but 20MB/sec is painful when you're doing hundreds of gigabytes. Instead I got this 3.5" SATA hotswap bay so that I can avoid USB altogether. Yeah it's not MakeMKV's fault, it's something in Intel 2014 mobo/driver as I've had the same issue on across 2 different brands of...

Re: Ripping 4K UHD Disks
I wonder if your drive is doing what two of mine did. Mine just stopped being able to rip UHD disks over time, sometime after 200 rips. Happened with both of my WH16NS60 drives. They both can rip DVDs and Blu-rays, just not UHD. My BP50NB40 and BP60NB10 drives work fine with UHD disks. Can you post...

urf well you could try on usb 2 ports makemkv is unlikely to exceed the bandwidth unless you are using the speed unlock on the lg/asus drives

Re: Windows/VLC integration: Can MakeMKV only integrate one disc at a time?
Okay, it works for me now when using single-drive mode. That's a bit counter-intuitive that I need single-drive mode to fully use multiple drives at the same time. with 2 drives that what you want anyway to be able to rip 2 discs at once and not have the the program ping each drive and cause ...

Re: LG WH14NS40 Success
I am looking to purchase this drive and enclosure as well. If I am mostly doing DVD rips/some Blu-ray, maybe the occasional ultra-hd disc, would this LG drive suffice? I would like to try this combination first, before going for a flashed Pioneer drive. Please help let me know if this is a waste of...
