Re: Scan Types: Interlaced vs Progessive
Hi bugoy,
Thank you for the warm words first of all:)
MakeMKV doesn't change anything, so if it's interlaced it will stay interlaced, progressive stays progressive.

Re: Blu-Ray drive not Found
Hi Anna,
Please check that you have admin rights, because computer administrator privileges are required to run the beta version. This is limitation of Windows SCSI application programming interface. The full version of MakeMKV will not require administrator privileges to run.
Hope this will help

Re: Blu-Ray to MKV Choppy Playback
Hi guys,
Could you please tell me what was the codec? And if you could also try to run this mkv file via MKVMerge and look if it's still choppy or not, this would really help!
Thank you!

Re: and another fault
All of these errors show that your VOB files (on hard drive) do not conform to DVD specification. What program did you use to create them? Did you use any transcoding tools? Also please try the latest version ( 1.3 ) and see if it still fails.

Re: A solid foundation with a few missing elements
Thanks for the feedback. Some of the items are on our list while some other are somewhat hard to do. - Blu-ray chapters are supported as of version 1.3 - There are plans to add support for LPCM audio and optionally pack it into FLAC container - MKV file format is really not suited for HD audio forma...

Re: Can't play MKV in WMP
you need haali splitter to handle MKV file format and individual codecs for particular formats inside MKV - usually mpeg2, mpeg4, VC-1, DD, DTS.

Guys, please try the latest version 1.3 and let me know if it still crashes. Some errors that may cause this crash were fixed in that version.

Re: Need progress bar for complex multiplex DVDs
The program actually displays that information just above the the progress bar. It shows "scanning cell xx/yy" which means that cell xx out of total yy is scanned. For reasons too long to explain it is very hard to estimate how many cells need to be scanned in advance.

Re: Blu-Ray to MKV Choppy Playback
VC-1 is generally CPU-intense codec and has somewhat poor support in many players as of today. VLC still uses old ffmpeg build that doesn't utilize multi-core features of modern CPUs. It should get better over time but I can't give any specific advice now.
