As far as in mkv files you have only titles from your dvd or bluray, all menus are lost. But you could anyway make vob from mkv, there are a lot of tools for this, for example mkv2vob. Hope it helps.

Sorry, we have limited support of HDDVD. We don't support VC-1 without TFCNTR on HDDVD and this would not change in the nearest future.

BTW, some latest DVDs have DVD_text file and MakeMkv automaticaly gets the names of the titles from this file. This might help.
But anyway, thank you for the great suggestion!
