Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2022

Yep, Pioneer drives are a bit longer and don't fit in the OWC enclosure. I haven't tried but might fit in the Vantec. I ordered the Vantec NST-536S3-BK, although from the reviews on Amazon, it seems the 'updated version' of the enclosure is a bit of a downgrade in some ways from the older one. In a...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT goes unresponsive during rips with LibreDrive

Can you please check first that this is indeed a LibreDrive issue? Please run it with LibreDrive disabled and see if you get any issues (could be different ones) at all. Thanks!

Re: Issues with hkdata.fairuse.org?

I've been receiving errors when attempting to download SDF info since Friday, 2/18/2021. I assumed this was just a temporary server outage, but now I'm not so sure. I checked my Sophos UTM logs just to make sure there was no funny business going on with the web filter and the log indicated somethin...

Just a curiosity if I can ask. Are UHD svq dumps made with S12UHT as good as the ones made with LG drives?
Yes.

Should never expire with any key, permanent or beta. Please check the computer date and post the log.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

SDF v85
Fixed some drives entering slow speed mode
Pioneer module in sdftool now has commands to view and change default speed mode. One less reason to download Pioneer drive utility :)

Re: Please help, makemkv behaving differently in LibreDrive mode

Ok, things move fast. I've just pushed the update, even without speed control you should get an old behavior - MakeMKV would honor the speed setting from drive config.

Re: Please help, makemkv behaving differently in LibreDrive mode

Well, to make this brief and as painlessly to read as possible, something unexpected happened today. I was about to backup my bluray and as I launched makemkv and it started to read the disc, I noticed for the first time "Using LibreDrive Mode" which I thought was unusual since it was the...

MakeMKV doesn't add any Pioneer entry inside regedit (instead of LG drives).
You can add it manually - lower-case "speed" + underscore + drive id from sdftool or MakeMKV log file.

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

The strange thing is that after a reboot Windows doesn't see drive anymore. I've to turn my PC off and restart again (I'm investigating this issue). There are several reports that LibreDrive mode manifests insufficient USB power issue - drive disconnects after LibreDrive handshake but works fine wi...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

This is awesome news, and it looks like it's only six days old! Isn't the latest version of MakeMKV from 2021? This is one of the design goals of LibreDrive - separate (frequently changing) drive logic from a (rarely changing) library runtime. And the target goal - a fully open-source library runti...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

Now for my stupid question. Is that true of the Pio implementation? IOW, if I enable LibreDrive and then someone does a valid AACS authentication (e.g. for a blu-ray), and the disc is requesting bus encryption, will the drive honor that request even with the LibreDrive firmware active? Asking for a...

You can't downgrade either as it just tells you your firmware is newer.
This could be (technically) bypassed. As of today there is zero need, but still...
