MakeMKV won't help you there. It only rips videos from DVDs and BluRays, and can handle MKV files.
DivX is really old, so is AVI. You might use a transcoder light Handbrake to convert it to something your devices can understand.

Re: USB Movie
That depends on what kind of files/folders are on that USB drive.

Re: MakeMKV decrypt VOB file
If the DVD is a true disk, you can put it into your drive and make an ISO with MakeMKV. The current versions support creating a decrypted ISO backup of DVDs (not of BluRays/UHDs though).

Re: Different files format support?
MKV is the only container format of them all that can hold every kind of audio, video and subtitle formats a DVD or BluRay/UHD can have.
Besides, AVI is 32 years old by now, and shouldn't be used anymore.

Re: Zatoichi DVD TV Series Discs Not Showing All Episodes
Have you tried Manual Opening mode? Does it show all episodes there? It seems, the three episodes all have four cells, and for some reason MakeMKV removes Episode 2 (cell 5 to 8) and Episode 3 (cell 9 to 12). Though ultimately it seems that MakeMKV would also make one big file (though that one can b...

Re: Transporting 4K source file corrupt.
What I wanted to say is: you basically used MakeMKV twice.
That the disc now works can have multiple reasons. A dusty spot on the laser, who now is gone, the material of the disc which had to "warm up" a bit, an un/intented brush along the disc with a clean fabric...

So you pay people so they can commit a crime? They're not making much money if they have to pay the BluRay from the money you give them.

Re: 2000+ rips on my 8 drive NAS
I don't use RAID at all, I just don't have the space to keep two copies of everything (and I'd hate to think how expensive that would be in terms of buying twice as many HDDs) This is only true for RAID 1 aka Mirroring. if you use like RAID 5 or 6, it'll be only a few disks which will be used for p...

Re: MakeMKV cannot open BluRay-ISO with BD+
There are normal BluRay discs that do have Bus Encryption required. Just copying the files from them without having LibreMode active won't end in playable files.

I also have the Alf series, though European/German version. What's stopping you from going the normal way? If I open the disc, MakeMKV shows me this: https://i.imgur.com/sxULbdf.png (https://i.imgur.com/sxULbdf.png if picture isn't shown) Manual mode goes like this: https://i.imgur.com/VT3dZQW.png (...

Re: Mactheripper message
More often than not the message comes on Bootleg DVDs, as in no official disks.
Are these disks still CSS protected? You can see that when you open MakeMKV and just insert the DVD. Then you will see that information on the top left (I think).
No protection = eventually a bootleg.

And what do you want to do with the files then? Because if you just want to make MKV files out of them, you can just use MKVToolNix.
