Re: Batman The Complete Animated Series - No dialogue on first episode
For what it's worth, the disc I have has: Label: Batman_Animated_Series_D1 Timestamp: 2018-09-11 17:46:41 I see a few more short titles than in the OP's image, but that may be because I have the minimum title length setting set to 50 seconds. Of the first two episode titles (the 3.1GB ones) the firs...

Re: Cyberlink PowerDVD with a Flashed Pioneer
For me both the LG drives and the Pioneer drives came with Cyberlink PowerDVD, but LG’s version was newer (more like less old) so that’s what I’ve kept installed. It works with my LGs (flashed) but has had issues with my Pioneers (unflashed) so I’ve just stuck to using it with the LGs—I basically as...

Re: Batman The Complete Animated Series - No dialogue on first episode
I thought also hit this issue (this board has at least 3 threads about it), but there's 14 episodes in the list and only 13 episodes on the disc. The first of the 14 is "On Leather Wings" with the commentary, and another has it without the commentary (probably the 2nd of the 14 since it ha...

Re: Windows going to sleep during ripping
I had wondered if makemkv was implemented to call "PowerSetRequest(h, PowerRequestSystemRequired)" while is was processing a disc, and this thread seems to suggest 1) the answer is no, or 2) Microsoft has further increased/changed what's needed for a process to keep the system awake. Previ...

This page has contact information for Walt Disney, including a link to a form to send them an email: https://support.disney.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000829806-How-do-I-contact-Walt-Disney-Pictures-and-Walt-Disney-Studios I tried that once within the last year. The website has/had a form where you c...

Re: The Abyss 4K
I didn't have any problems with The Abyss, True Lies, or Aliens, but I can see how some of them can be problematic because the 4K disc is stacked on top of the bonus disc and that invites circular scratches. As for Target, for me it's almost always the case that reporting a movie as defective result...

Re: Crash (blue screen of death) as rip starts
I'm not sure any of that information helps since none of it is directly related to the BSOD. One part talks about makemkv shutting down (though unclear if it's an intended or crashed shutdown), and the other is about the DellWAL service having a problem. DellWAL is probably something that Dell insta...

Re: Lessons learned from backing up hundreds of discs
After doing over 1000 titles I have a few thoughts to add. 1) Some folks mention they favor Pioneers (vs LG) to get more accurate reads, but I’ll still not sure if this is a valid concern for blurays given the m2ts hashes. 2) Be careful with foreign language titles. If you soecify a default language...

Re: Pioneer firmware update February 2023
The BDR-X13U-S from Amazon seems to already be shipping with the latest 1.03 firmware (though I'm not entirely certain it was a virgin unit--the cables weren't bound with a wire and the plastic cover for the electric plug wasn't actually on the plug). For anyone scared off Amazon's BDR-X13U-S becau...

Re: Fastest drive for ripping large collection
I'm basically restating the prior post, but in my experience (which seems to fit what others have said) the LG drives are generally faster than the Pioneer drives but are more prone to having errors/issues with certain discs. If I were to ask for an MakeMKV feature I'd like for better handling of er...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
The black BDR-XS07UHD can handle 4K UHD without issue (I don’t recall my firmware version), though sounds like you’ve got the silver BDR-XS07S that isn’t expected to support 4K UHD.
TBD if firmware mods can eventually “fix” that but at this point I think people are still experimenting.
