I reduce the file size of all my blu ray and dvd rips using handbrake. First I create the Mkv with Make mkv and then use Handbrake to shrink it. It is an amazing free tool that will reduce file size substantially with little quality loss. Its very easy to use and really an amazing encoding program.

Handbrake is great, easy to use program with a good interface. Excellent reduction in size with little pq loss. Generally a 20gb mkv down to 3-4 gb ) It is a great teammate for makemkv which also is a great program ) great job on this one

Well I tried reinstalling the program and did Wall e and chapters are there. Funny but when I tried to further encode with handbrake it doesnt recognize that any chapters are there

It seems that chapters are only created sometimes when I use makemkv to convert a blu ray into a mkv file? Im puzzled because it sometimes does create the chapters and sometimes it doesnt. Not sure if im missing something but I always make sure I click on the large file with a # chapters beside it. ...
