Re: Burn in Forced Subtitles

No reason to use directshow these days
I have to disagree with you there, for what I do directshow is still extremely useful. As it allows me (or anyone) to pre-process & filter a video before the encoder gets it.

Re: Burn in Forced Subtitles

In the value field of the selected item in the image, Set the language or title of the subtitle you want used/burned in. Again remember this trick only works with encoders that use the splitter. Using my avatar subtitles as an example, if you wanted to burn in only the NAvi. You would need to set th...

[REQUEST] Start & End Frames

This is feature I miss from using DVD shrink, IT would allow you to setup where your starting frame and ending frame was. This allowed for backup your videos with out things like intro/starting credits and ending credits. Which doesn't sound like much, but really does add up over time.

Re: Idea to increase usability

Personally I'm all for more options, but in the end I would keep keep it with this setting. For one things my scripts are already setup to use it. And second, it's the tiniest bit easier to script for.

Re: h.264 instead of MPEG2?

You'll have to re-encode it to h264, AFTER MakeMKV is finished.

Re: Burn in Forced Subtitles

Heres a trick no one seems to know, Any encoder that uses the "Haali Media Splitter" can be used to "burn" in subtitles, even if that program clearly stats that it does not support subtitles. To do this you'll need to go into the Haali Media Splitter properties and set the "...

Re: Burn in Forced Subtitles

"Burning" as everyone is calling it requires you to re-encode the video, something MakeMKV does not do.

Re: Popcorn A200 and MKV: Part II

Re: TrueHD "core" vs. other DD track

Remember it's always easier to to be backwards compatible then it future compatible, that being said looking at the TrueHD & AC3 "issue" at hand. I look at it like this. It's almost guaranteed any receiver out there can decode a AC3 or DTS stream (these are both DVD standards). But it'...

Re: Drive Speed

I have the iHES206, and see the same thing. Yet for me even with Anydvd(HD) I'm only seeing about 2.5x

UPDATE:
After some more testing I'm finding that nothing is reading from this drive at over 2.5X. So for me on this PC with this drive, it's got nothing to do with MakeMKV.

Re: TrueHD "core" vs. other DD track

That is because, of course there is a Blu-ray requirement that there be a legacy AC3 track in the same language as the main audio of the movie. On every English-language movie with TrueHD there will be at least one English language AC3 track, and in most cases there will be two: a separate AC3 trac...

Re: TrueHD "core" vs. other DD track

I'm not understanding your question, but heres what I can tell you from your picture. 1. Your 1st check-boxed Audio Stream is either a DTS for AC3 standalone stream. 2. Your bluray as A TrueHD Track which has a inter-weaved. 3. All TrueHD streams always have an identical ac3 stream (around 640 kbps)...

Re: TrueHD "core" vs. other DD track

While it is true it doesn't have a core stream, it does have a inter-weaved AC3 stream.

CORRECTION:
I should have said:
While it is true it doesn't have a core stream, it can have a inter-weaved AC3 stream.
