Re: The trial/key mechanism for MakeMKV is confusing
If you look at it from the author's point of view, the beta keys have a short time span and are matched to the current beta so that everyone in the beta program is using the beta with the latest fixes. Not using old "broken" software. If you want to back off to an older version you can do ...

Re: Using multiple drives at the same time with makemkv
I'm just curious if cushy is talking about ripping from 3 optical drives or using 3 hd or what?
I've never had a chain of optical drives so I don't know the performance characteristics.

Re: Which m2ts is correct movie?
Often I'll see something similar with standard DVD. A program may show 4 main movies of 4 GB each. I usually just pick the top one in the list. Then I check languages and subtitles and do a test burn with an erasable disc. Sometimes all you have is trial and error.

When this software goes gold, I will be one of your first customers. Thanks again. Why wait? You can buy now, it's totally worth it. ==> http://www.makemkv.com/buy/ +1. I purchased back in February and haven't had any of the update issues I've seen reported. All my updates have been smooth.

Re: Is $70 a typo?
It must have to do with your location. I'm in the US. Out of curiosity I went to the purchase page. It said $50. Same as when I purchased a few months back.

Is $70 a typo?
I'm just curious as I registered MakeMKV some months ago. But I noticed the entry update on VideoHelp.com now says Trialware($70) but Avangate page still says $50.

Re: simple way to shrink mkv file size?
You can also use BDRebuilder. You can either just do a complete backup using MakeMKV or save an .mkv title and use tsMuxer to produce a BluRay formatted folder. Might seem strange to go that way but "good" profile on BDRebuilder is very fast. That's what I use so it's worth it for me to do...

Drag & drop the .mkv onto mkvmerge GUI. Uncheck the subtitle stream. Save.

Re: Rip Blu Ray Discs to MKV from HDD.
There aren't any guarantees. The only way to know for sure is demux all the PGS streams in the MKV that aren't zero length and load them into BDSup2Sub. It will tell you if any in that stream are forced.

Re: conversion speed / execution time
I prefer ESATA. Not sure what the performance penalty is with HDs but with a BR drive I saw 10-15% loss with USB, no performance loss with ESATA. You must be talking USB 2.0. I get sequential read from WD 6 Gb/sec 1 TB HD in USB 3.0 dock at 143 MB/sec Crystal Diskmark. The muxing doesn't slow me do...

Re: conversion speed / execution time
Hi! Add a second physical hard drive and read from one drive and write to the other for a drastic reduction in time required... [/color] I second that. Instead of adding internal drives I added a USB 3.0 dual port card and USB Superspeed docking stations. 6 Gb/sec internal drives stuck in the docks...

Curious why updates show on this forum last?
Seems like it's a waste of time to look in news and announcements to see if there's a new version since VideoHelp.com will have the announcement the day before. Just seems kind of weird they would know about it first

Re: Feature Request - Open/Edit a MKV
So, after having written the above, I go over to VideoHelp.com and notice that MKVCleaver has introduced a new version today. Maybe, It might provide all the fixes I need. One can hope. Tony btw since you mentioned chapter support, on the WD player if you FF even at only 2x, then hit the Next Butto...
