Re: DTS-HD HRA -> AC3: LIBMKV_TRACE: Failed to attach audio
Is the input DTS-HD HRA track Stereo? Your DTS-HD HRA settings seem to set the same audio mix for Stereo input tracks as it does for multichannel input tracks…

Re: does the TV series Lost have forced subtitles
It should. IIRC LPCM is also one of the inputs that gets converted to FLAC using the MakeMKV-provided "FLAC" conversion profile, so this should be fairly straightforward…Woodstock wrote:I'm not sure if MakeMKV has the ability to change LPCM into FLAC... Haven't needed it myself.

Re: Intentionally Watching 3D MVC MKV in 2D
Most likely not, because the 2D disc can use the disc space (which on the 3D disc, is used for the 3D data). That's much less than half, but still additional disc space.

Re: AAC Profile for 5.1
That's 5.1 side though, 5.1 back would have BL and BR in place of SL and SR.

Re: AAC Profile for 5.1
I thought MakeMKV used libfdk? It definitely supports 5.1 encoding, though you might need to ask for 5.1(back) rather than 5.1(side) in FFmpeg?

Re: The Homesman
OK, that makes sense but then how does the bluray player know to make the play button / select combo select the correct playlist? Somehow the bluray player has to get something off the disc itself that tells it the correct playlist (and to reference it to the "play" button on the main men...

Not really, MakeMKV shows you a list instead of the actual Blu-ray menundjamena wrote:It throws up a menu, then you tell it what to play. Isn't that what MakeMKV is doing too?

Re: The Homesman
How does a Bluray player know what order to play the .mt2s files or which playlist to pick when you put the disc in and hit play? It doesn't. You tell it which playlist to play by hitting the corresponding element in the Blu-ray menu. It can be labeled "Play" or anything else , and doesn'...

Re: Multiple Core, and Cuda Core capable?
I'd have to check whether FFmpeg threaded their FLAC encoder, but if libavcodec says it wasn't built with threading support, kind of a moot point…ndjamena wrote:FLAC keeps complaining that it was compiled without threading support, but I just assumed MakeMKV was taking over the threading process.

Re: Multiple Core, and Cuda Core capable?
I doubt there are any Cuda capable FLAC/AAC/AC3 encoders around, but they should all be capable of using the multiple cores in a CPU. Actually most open-source audio encoder/decoders aren't threaded. FFmpeg has a small selection of threaded decoders, IIRC (I don't think it's ever been ported to lib...

Not necessarily. Wasn't it Star Wars that used as very old AACS version but the very latest BD+?Woodstock wrote:If the AACS is that old, usually MakeMKV would have been updated for the BD+ on the disk.
