Can't upgrade to 1.8.3

Post by guitarmandp »

Okay I installed 1.8.3 but it did not reset my expiration date and I get the "Fatal Error" message when I try to rip a DVD. Even though I installed 1.8.3 it's telling me on the bottom that it's 1.8.1

Make sure you do not have a copy of MakeMKV running, using the task manager. If you do, use "end process" on anything with makemkv in its name. Alternatively, you can reboot your computer to make sure no part of MakeMKV is running, but that's overkill most of the time.

Try running the update again.

If MakeMKV is running when you attempt an update (some versions can SOMETIMES leave the command line portion running when you exit the graphic interface), the update will not be able to write all the files it needs to write. And, unfortunately, the installer does not usually detect that it is still running.

Finally got it working. Let me do two DVD's and now it freezes for a little bit and says "Fatal Error Occured, program will now exit"!
