Cannot naviagate to/select folders for a source

Post by sfoster4 »

I currently have all of my movies ripped to my WHS. I downloaded and installed makemkv to try and convert folders to mkv. When I try and navigate and select the folder it will not even recognize it. So I am dead in the water. Anyone else with this problem? Any problems using this on WHS?

1. How did you rip the movies to your WHS (Windows Home Server).
2. What are you really trying to accomplish here ?
Are you trying to just convert your existing library of movies to MKV from (VOB/TS/M2TS/etc) ?
Or have you ripped them into a ISO or other simple full DVD backup ?

Hi!
to try and convert folders to mkv

MakeMKV (and, as far as I know, any other program that can create .MKV files) can create .MKV files ONLY from individual files - whether the individual files are in folders or not...

This is not exactly true. MakeMKV opens "folders". What kind of source are you trying to open, DVD or blu-ray? For DVD you need to select VIDEO_TS.ifo file inside VIDEO_TS folder.

I just tried to open a source folder (BluRay) that I had ripped with another program and could not get anything to open from the Stream or Playlist folders. All the .mpls and .m2ts icons were grayed out/unselectable. Will the program read only from an Optical drive :?:

Hi!

Click on either "index.bdmv" or "MovieObject.bdmv"
