HEVC/UltraHD support

Post by spl147 »

not looking for support to rip discs, but since full UltraHD disk rips are starting to surface. it would be nice if we could process them with MakeMKV, i currently use mkvtoolnix, but it's a PITA compared to MakeMKV

Join in the group watching this in the "AACS v2.0" topic... So far, there is no general code for cracking it, so no possibility of MakeMKV getting UHD support for now.

If it's already been ripped from the disk, why would you need MakeMKV? It seems you are already using a tool designed for what you want to do.

If they disks are unprotected, you would simply have to have a drive that understands the format (not all BD XL drives can handle all BD XL-formatted disks), and they should be collections of files at that point.
