Obfuscation / makemkvcon

Post by xr200 »

I just found this old post from Mike Admin dealing with how to find the correct playlist
for a BD using obfuscation.
For now, the "easiest" manual path:

1. insert the disc in player, play main movie. If your player displays playlist id, then you're done. If not continue.
2. Take a pencil and a piece of paper, chose two or 3 chapters/episodes (for example No 3, No 8, No 15). On player navigate to these chapter and write down exact chapter time (all players display the current running time one way or another).
3. In MakeMKV go through each title one by one, expand "chapters" entry and compare times. Usually a timestamp for two arbitrary chapters is enough to filter out all fakes.
Assuming this is still a recommended method, could makemkvcon be modified in some way to
display the chapter times (that the GUI already knows)? It would find it a lot easier to be
able to parse an output file searching the correct chapter times than it is to manually click on
a hundred (or more) titles using the GUI.
