Usability Improvement

Mike,

I have a small request (hopefully) for a change that would make MakeMKV more useable for me (and hopefully for others). Below is a snipit from a recent MakeMKV log.

Title #35 has length of 151 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 600 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #36 has length of 146 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 600 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #37 has length of 5 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 600 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #38 was added (1 cell(s), 0:14:40)
Title #39 has length of 5 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 600 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #42 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title #43 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title #44 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title #45 was added (19 cell(s), 2:20:48)
Title #46 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title #47 was added (19 cell(s), 2:20:47)
Title #48 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title #49 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title #50 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title #51 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title #52 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title #53 was added (17 cell(s), 2:16:45)
Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped
Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped
Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped
Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped
Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped
Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped
Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped
Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped
Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped
Operation successfully completed

I knew in advance that I needed to process Title #53, but it did not end up in the final list of titles because it was "skipped". From a usability perspective, it is not always easy for the end user to map the desired title/s ("Title 1 in VTS 16 is equal to title 1 and was skipped") back to the matching title that was NOT skipped. In this instance there was only one title (#42) in the list of titles that matched the length (2:16:45) of Title #53, so I used Title #42 instead of #Title #53 that I needed to process. That is not always the case. It is often ambiguous as to which title to use (multiple titles that appear to match what I'm looking for).

Is it possible for you to enhance the log message in the case/s where duplicate titles are skipped? Ideally it would be nice to have the skipped title be mapped to the matching title that it matches. For example, in this case something like "Title #53 is equal to Title #42 and was skipped".

Thanks in advance for your consideration of this request. Love MakeMKV, keep up the great work.

The will be looked at, but in your case you can easily open specific title(s) using manual mode http://www.makemkv.com/manualdvd/

Mike,

Thanks. I hope it's not a problem to implement.
