Blu Ray Region B

Post by wunderlong88 »

I want to order El Cid on Blu Ray and it is region B/2. Will I be able to rip it on my pc with makemkv? I've done other blu rays but never one that was another region and wasn't sure.

I've never had an issue and I've done a ton of DVDs and Blu-rays that are a different region than my drive - usually UK discs.

When opening the disc, MakeMKV says "attempting to work around," and it always does.

BD region coding seems to actually be simpler than DVD - they simply put up a different main video according to the region of the player, that says "you can't play this on your player". The video itself isn't encoded any differently.

I have a number of BD titles "out of region", and MakeMKV didn't even log that it was an issue. DVDs, it logs...
