Thanks

Post by chippy »

I finally bit the bullet and bought a license for Makemkv on my Linux box. I reckoned I'd been using it enough in the "beta" phase to honestly say that this is one of the bits of software I can't do without, and although I've been using Linux systems for nearly 12 years, this is only the second time I've actually considered paying for a bit of software without any qualms. So well done to the developer and thanks.

I have been saying THANK YOU to Mike for years. I have also been contributing beta-tester work, and I have been *trying* to pay Mike for one of the few truly useful pieces of non-standard software I use.

ok 'captain'. What I suggest is this:

Contact your credit card company
- provide the transaction details
- provide evidence that the funds have been taken from your account without receipt of goods

and get them to reverse the charge.

Also contact Avantgate with the same details and tell them what you are doing.

I don't know about US legislation, but here in the UK we have buyer protection rights when buying things with a credit card.

Clearly neither the software developer nor the service they have chosen to handle payments is in the business of trying to rip people off else others would have noticed by now and they'd be out of business. I suspect some glitch has occurred and you are the victim of it.

Shouting loudly in this forum is not going to get your money back.

And you are off topic. This topic is about thanking the developers. Please choose a more appropriate place to vent your spleen - or even start your own thread.

How were you able to get to beta testing? Is there a way to join on it?

@celavey - Anyone can join the beta and use/test the product. Just download it from here:

Code: Select all

http://www.makemkv.com/download/
And if it asks you for a key after you install it and go to run it, just use the key here:

Code: Select all

http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053
Enjoy! :)

Nope! Just free use (for now...) of a great program to easily and quickly convert your movies to MKV so you can keep them all on one place and not have to worry about discs getting lost or damaged. :) It's a pretty good deal!
