This version is too old

If you get that message after downloading the newest version of MakeMKV, see this topic:

http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053

Mike updates the key found within a day or two of a beta key expiring.

For a long time, beta versions did not stay "new" long enough for their key to expire, before Mike updated them. But there are fewer times he has to change things to stay ahead of copy protection, so new versions aren't as frequent.

You can save the hassle completely by buying an non-expiring license:

Hello,
I just began receiving this pop-up again for the latest version, 1.10.6 beta. Is it no longer freeware? If still is, is there a new key to enter?

Thnks much!

Yeah, this post is old & moldy.

v1.10.6 is throwing an error now. Even though the current version was released months ago, I don't see there is a new key on below post. Anyone know of one? Tried rolling back to the previous version, but still the same of course.

TIA

Check the link in the first post.
Bookmark it. New beta keys will always be posted there.

Or you can just buy it and never have to worry about the key again.

Mike always updates the posts in the announcement section, rather than putting new messages up. So the linked message is dated March 2010, but the key inside it (and the text describing it) is updated about every 60 days.

Appreciate the reply.

I did find that here: http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053, but that beta key looks now to be expired (even states below it that it expires in Sep of 2017, so that (temporary) key clearly appears to not be updated. :(
Tried the key multiple times with the same result. So most recent version is no longer free I'm assuming?

Ok, NM my last post. Appears it's all working with the most recent key in the latest 10.7.0. 10.6.0 would not accept the most recent key. Thanks all! :D

Since the message you were replying to, there have been multiple versions. Current is 1.12.3, although a lot of us also have 1.12.2 installed for non-UHD stuff.
