WH16NS40 with SVC Code NS40

Post by TT99C5 »

Is there any cross flash or other trick to get this to read an UHD? I've had mine since late 2015 and though I accidentally struck gold until I realized it wasn't the proper service code. Wasn't finding anything out there but it's easy to not search the right terms too. Thought I'd ask.

No. No tricks, nothing. The UHD Friendly Drive requirements are there for a reason.

All you have to do was search for “WH16NS40” as there are dozens of posts regarding this topic and drive model. Example:

http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic ... s40#p61693

In that thread, a force flash of this drive has already been attempted by another forum member and confirmed bricked the drive. He was not the only one.

That's exactly what I needed. I hadn't stumbled across that post yet. Thank you very much!
