can't rip blu ray discs?

Hello, i'm on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS x86_64

2022 Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Laptop

with a MthsTec, USB 3.0, External Bluray DVD Drive,

trying to rip the outpost extended directors cut 4k ultra hd on blu ray and for whatever reason ubuntu, or vlc, or makemkv or handbrake is not seeing the movie,. all play and see dvd film just fine and i have sudo apt install libdvd-pkg && sudo dpkg-reconfigure libdvd-pkg installed, but for whatever reason my computer and all my programs don't see my blu ray movies, what can i do?

"4k ultra hd" is not the same as "Bluray". If your external drive is not UHD-capable, you will not see a 4K disk.

You mentioned everything EXCEPT the model of the drive...

Mentioned, but not often seen...

External Bluray DVD Drive, MthsTec USB 3.0 and Type-C...

from reviews:

"Further, be aware that this drive will NOT play UltraHD 4K bluray disks.... "

in addition to general mentions of "not being reliable".

This is not the drive, but the case around the drive. What does MakeMKV list on the right side about the drive and its capabilities?
