Segment Maps

Hi all,
I've seen a lot of discussion recently about Segment Maps (on a thread about Deepwater Horizon); in particular finding and writing them in the correct order. I've never had a need to do any of this before, but am now curious about it. How does one go about finding a DVD's segment map (using Mac version of makemkv)? Can a specific segment map be written using Makemkv, and if so, how?
