What is your minimum title length?

If your minimum title length exceeds the longest title length on the disk, you will get a "failed to open".

I've never seen the "Title #1 with special attributes was skipped" message before.

I’ve been getting this same exact message on a few different screeners. I’ve emailed the issue, hope to get some help on this! Thanks!

That’s weird, I didn’t have a problem ripping any of these.

I ran into an issue with downsizing, Roman Esq, and Thor Ragnarak.

And did you solve anything on Thor, Downsizing, or Roman?

No I didn’t. I’m still waiting to hear back from Makemkv Support. Emailed them a month ago, no response.

I found that with the problematic screener discs, if you enable AnyDVD or DVDFabPasskey, rip it to your HD as an ISO and then open that partially broken ISO in MakeMKV your able to get at the disc.

It worked for me on Darkest Hour, Thor etc. I didn't have access to a copy of Phantom Thread but it should work as Darkest Hour is from the same studio. There's slight differences between each disc even within the same studio but there hasn't been one I haven't been able to get thru. Blade Runner was tricky but now the retail disc is widely available.

Not sure about Downsizing as Paramount sent my friend digital links this year instead of physical copies. Good luck on Phantom Thread, I so wish I had a copy of that one. Great film.

Not sure. All I know is that making a decrypted ISO on some titles was enough to help makemkv find the right title. Guess it fixed the structure protection enough.
