The seconded is an older movie called The Others.

"The Others" was tried using an Asus USB external Bluray burner drive.
"The Great Wall" I tried a Pioneer external.

MakeMKV detected that you have Java installed, but apparently it either does not have permission to run it, or it isn't really where it's supposed to be.

MakeMKV needs it to find the "main movie" on these particular disks; it normally would not load it unless it was needed, so other disks should work.

The fix is to make sure that Java is properly installed, and that the user you run MakeMKV under has permission to run it.

I repointed the java address in preferences. Although it looked like the same address to me it *may have* worked.
I'm ripping a backup of Hell or High Water right now. When it's finished I'll try one of the other two.

Thanks for replying.
Ps. I'll only post again if I have more problems.

Well.....That didn't work!

What I did next was uninstalled and reinstall java. Java was listed twice as a java update. Repointed in preferences too
That worked! I'm ripping The Great wall now.

I just don't know why HOHW worked and the other 2 Blurays didn't. It's an answer I don't really need, I guess.

Different things happen at different times.

If you are doing a "Backup", the Java engine is never called, because MakeMKV does not try to figure out which play list is the "real" playlist; it's just copying files off the BD.

If you are ripping to MKV files (using the "Open" button instead of "Backup"), the Java engine is ONLY needed when play list obfuscation is detected. It won't be used for DVDs, or BDs that have non-Java menus.
