failed to save error when converting iso to mkv

When I atempt to convert a bluray disc to mkv i get the following error. This error occurs if i am trying to convert from ISO or from burned disc. It occurs for me in Windows and in Linux (ubunutu). Any help would be appreciated. I did enter the new (valid through april) key, but that did not seem to have any effect.

I'm not sure if it's worth mentioning or not, but I can stream the file and am able to fully play the movie using xbmc.

With that odd resolution, I'm wondering if this is a retail disc, or some sort of custom disc?

Hi!

1280x720 IS a conforming Blu-ray resolution... (Though far less frequently used versus 19201080)

Is this for the Despecialized iso? I'm having similar problems:

@finn1911

Instead of the .ISO image file that you created, try using your original, commercial Blu-ray disc as your initial source material...

Hi!

Hiding file titles with "*******" only leads to suspicion of innapropriate source material - which is not appreciated at this forum...

He's not hiding the file title; he's hiding his Windows username, which is a perfectly valid privacy concern in a public forum. You really ought to take a chill pill sometimes and remember that this isn't your forum!

Which isn't an official release and can't therefore be purchased legally :P

Romansh, setarip,

I don't see any mention anywhere that Makemkv is only for commercial discs, nor any mention anywhere that this forum is only for commercial discs. Am I missing something?

Yes, you are.

Although formal forum rules have not yet been posted, "mike admin" (owner of the forum) has posted more than once that discussion of other-than-purchased commercial media is not acceptable at the MakeMKV forum.

It's unacceptable for at least two reasons:

1) The concept of duplicating something you don't own is unethical, at the very least

2) Supporting such activity (by allowing discussion at this forum) is an invitation to the attorneys for the studios and related companies and support organizations (such as the MPAA) to "bring the wrath of the gods" upon the forum and its owners. You have only to look at what happened to Digital Video Digest's foum, owner, and mods several years ago

Fan Edits For The Win!

If it is a Fan Edit, I'd try and see if it was also released as just a file, rather than a disc image.
