1:1 copy to .mkv container?

Post by fljoemon »

It has been a while since I ripped BluRays .. made a 1:1 backup of a 4K UHD disc (Blade Runner - The Final Cut). I was expecting a .mkv file, however here's the directory structure the tool made ...

BladeRunner
> AACS
> BDMV
> CERTIFICATE
> discatt.dat

Cannot find the .mkv file anywhere that I can stream using Plex Client. I just realized that "Expert Mode" was NOT turned ON in the General Settings. Is there any way I can use the existing files and create an .mkv container.

Thanks!

If you want MKV files, you have to Open the disk (BIG button that looks like a spinning disk when the disk is loading), select the titles you want to rip, and click the "MakeMKV" button on the right.

Once you've done the backup, you can have MakeMKV open it and create MKVs without using the physical disk.

Thanks @woodstok .. that worked! Made a nice big mkv file that I can now stream using SPMC on my Nvidia Shield TV.
