Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"

Hello good people of this forum. I have been reading all the detail on the 36 page long post here on downgrading the firmware on an Asus friendly drive I purchased and the numerous steps involved and then stumbled upon this thread upon registering for the forum. Is this patched updater what I am lo...

Re: Firmware downgrade using official (patched) flasher, the "Ultra hax0r guide"

@Billycar11, Are these bin files extracted from the official LG Firmware Update tools? As Mike said, dumps or cleaned dumps of any sort are not suitable. If you have the official LG firmware updaters could you please upload them. Thanks so the NS60 v1.00 firmware in the link above cannot be used to...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

what drives/firmwares are supported with this LibreDrive mode? The detailed list will be posted soon. About 200 firmware versions total, about 2/3 in supported state. MakeMKV now displays detailed information for the drive on the main screen, look for the LibreDrive information on the right pane. I...

This is what we were working on for a while - viewforum.php?f=19 . If you have any issues with LibreDrive mode, please discuss it in appropriate sub-forum. Thanks!

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

Pioneer will never be supported, how many times must it be said I have to take it back. Pioneer might be supported after all. I cannot provide any hints or estimates, but it is sufficient to say that "never" part should be certainly stroked out. I stand corrected Sent from my iPhone Xs Max using Ta...

Let me repeat - all drives with newer firmwares (including slim USB-only) WILL be supported soon.
Is that including Pioneer? Thanks for the fantastic work you do.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

It's not re-encoding anything, not sure where you're getting that from. The point is getting Dolby Vision on some devices (LG and Vizio TV's at least, as far as I've seen), albeit without lossless audio. Right now I have a DV tv but I don't have an Atmos receiver yet, so right now there's actually ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

So what exactly is the point of this? Re encoding is a non starter for most, as the entire reason for using MakeMKV is no re encoding....loosing lossless audio is another non starter. The mkv container as far as i know does not support dual layer streams. Not to mention there is no player thats supp...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision

Yea, there's no player, not even official ones like PowerDVD, that supports DV on the PC. And I'm not sure there ever will be. DV has to be licensed to implement it. It would be nice though. Exactly, you want to watch REAL Dolby Vision buy the disc and a good disc player. Remuxing in any fashion de...

Re: WANTED: Results of UHD Rips with Dolby Vision

Here's another issue to consider. There's no official licensed player (i.e. PowerDVD) that supports DV on a PC AT ALL. And given that it's a closed format, storing it in a container such as MKV is only one small piece of the much larger puzzle. Even if you could store it properly, there's nothing t...
