I had the same slew of errors reported when trying to make a backup. Turns out I had the DVD disc in the drive. Swapped it for the BluRay and everything works perfectly. Not sure why it had such an issue with the DVD backup... Edit: v1.8.5, Korora Linux 19, x64, GNOME. BluRay + DVD + Digital bought ...

+1. Runs great under Korora 19.

I use MakeMKV to rip all of my original, paid for BluRay movies, keeping the discs in pristine condition. Especially useful when you have a small one running around the place!
