Hi All,

I just get my Buffalo BRUHD-PU3 today, and I am using DVDFab UHD tool to downgrade it to BU10 by just a click, and completely successful. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
But you could have saved $75-$110 by following the guides here

Re: Teardown for WH16NS60??

I had a disc get stuck inside my WH16NS60. I managed to get it out by using the brute force method and now the drawer doesn't close properly. When I do try to force it shut, I can hear the ratchet sound of the gears that operate it. Does anyone know of a youtube video or guide that shows a teardown...

Hey guys,
If I have a drive that ships with official UHD firmware (ie. bu40N) and I flash it for ripping purposes, will it still work with official disc playback on a PC via powerDVD, or would I need to flash it back to the official firmware?
It will still work

Thanks for the info. I assume that I will have to first flash the wh14ns40 1.04MK file, and than downgrade to the wh16ns60 1.02MK.

Or is it possibale to just flash directaly from stock to wh16ns60 1.02Mk. ?
go directly to 1.02mk

Re: How to backup your original wh16ns40 firmware for safe keeping

I have the same drive. And I sent the small dump file to the support address. I am wondering where do I find the 1.04MK firmware file ??? I d/l the 4-15-2020 firmware zip file. There is a 1.04Mk file for the wh14ns40-ns50 folder but the wh16ns40-ns50 folder only has a 1.03MK. you can use the 1.04mk...

There is actually a method to re-flash back to NS40 from NS50 without dos-flash, the option will be added to sdftool shortly.
Option to save bu40ns flashed to desktop drives too?
I recover bricked ones of those all the time

I hope this is the right place. I'm trying to enable Libre Drive, and from what I understand from "What is LibreDrive" thread, it should enable itself automatically, but I have this drive info when I open MakeMKV: Drive Information OS device name: /dev/sr0 Current profile: BD-ROM Manufacturer: HL-D...

Re: LG WH14NS40 1.04 >>> ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.10 >>> LG WH16NS60 1.00

Ok..installed the 1.02 firmware on the WH14NS40 and it's working fine. I then installed MKV, VLC, and moved the files over that are needed to play the disc. And it's working! One more question, how do I know if it's in HDR or not? When playing the movie the codec info in VLC says "Planar 4:2:0 YUV ...

Re: LG WH14NS40 1.04 >>> ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.10 >>> LG WH16NS60 1.00

Do you happen to know how MPV compares? (That's what I'm using) Modern VLC never provided good looking UHD playback to me, even with its modern tone mapping feature (Perceptual/PP2.2 is close, but MPV is still better). I haven't bought a HDR display yet, using a XG35VQ. Was planning to get another ...
