Re: Joining the UHD party but got a question about firmware

1.00 was originally recommended because wider compatibility but now i recommend 1.03 because it 1 flash and done no matter what firmware you are on if you were on 1.04 or 1.03 1.00 would not work. but do not feel the need to upgrade to 1.03mk 1.00 is fine. stock ns60 vs BU40N the BU40n is slower by ...

Re: BD50 UHDs on non-UHD-friendly drives

there is also BD25
to tell what BD a disc is use https://www.blu-ray.com/ they have it listed in the specs.
not sure if original bluray drives supported dual layer discs or just single a BD50 would be dual layer

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2020

Question about drive flashing. I'm running a WH14NS40 drive. Is there any reason to upgrade an NS40 from 1.02 to 1.03 or am I best to leave 1.02 on it?
Leave it if it's working

Re: Original Firmware for WH14NS40

Hi all, Where can I get the original unchanged firmware for the WH14NS40 drive? I think I need to RMA mine. Also, where can I get the 1.00 firmware that everyone keeps talking about? I didn't see this in the MK firmware pack. I'd like to try it before I give up on this particular drive. Thanks Just...

Re: LG BU40N with Firmware Revision PH07

unfortunately I now had to notice that the drive has an unknown firmware PH07. Did you notice MakeMKV writing an FW_xxxxxxxx.tgz file for this drive? Should have been created on first disc opening and placed into MakeMKV data directory. Please send this file to support@makemkv.com I would flash my ...

I am trying to find a factory copy of the 1.04 version for a WH16NS40. I can only see 1.03 and 1.05. Would anyone happen to have a copy of that? Thanks.

Why do the newer versions suck? Specific behavior, error, or performance? Would like to be informed to avoid potential ...

Re: WH16NS40 Flasher

Does this mean the downgrading is complete after flashing the second firmware (WH16NS40-NS50-1.03) on it or do you recommend to then downgrade further and flash either WH16NS40_1.02_NS50 or WH16NS60 1.02MK on it? I have not fully understood if the second firmware "only" restores the capability to f...
