Re: LG WH16NS40 1.04+

For the same drive preloaded with 1.04, is it recommended to leave the drive on this H16NS60 1.02 mk or is that an interim step? I had originally intended to load the H16NS60 1.00 firmware but never got around to installing the drive. Now I am trying to catch up and advice seems to have changed. Th...

Re: Info on flashing LG BU40N

Hi all, Have run into a few troublesome discs on my Asus drive, so I've purchased an LG BU40N to try. A little confused on what to do assuming the drive comes with the newest factory firmware. It sounds like I need to cross flash it to a different drive and then downgrade. Which drive though? Is it...

Isn't that a slim mount?
Yes but it is so much more reliable than the desktop drives I have gotten over 50 defective desktop drives and I just gave up on them not 1 bad bu40n yet. Just get a USB version if your PC has no option for slim sata mount

Sorry for the bump, but was this ever resolved? I also have the Ncase M1 and was hoping to move from a giant, stupid-looking external 5.25" drive to an internal slot-loader. Are there still none available?
None

They can be the same speed if you flash WH16NS60 firmware to both other wise the WH16NS60 is faster

Thanks. No luck unfortunately (although it does sound like it’s getting closer to mounting, if that makes any sense).

Any other popular Bd100 discs that you know of that I can try ripping to verify that it’s a drive issue?

A little tight on cash right now, so I'll give that a shot. Any tips on disassembling a drive? I'm handy but I've never done that specifically.

Re: Bridge on the River Kwai

Does it matter that the drive works with the vast majority of the UHD disc's I've ripped? Would you suggest just getting another drive of the same model? Thanks. No and no Bu40n is the only drive I trust now Like u said it only seems to happen on BD 100s so your drive is bad for those and those dis...

Re: Bridge on the River Kwai

Hey all, Looking for some advice. First copy of Bridge on the River Kwai in UHD failed to even mount in my otherwise awesome Asus bw-16d1ht. Had this happen once before (Last Jedi UHD). Followed my typical routine (tried cleaning the disc, then exchanged). Unfortunately, the new disc is also not mo...

Re: Confirming Compatibility

Hmm, I searched the LG support pages - there is a firmware update to 1.03 available, which might make the drive similar to conrailguy's drive above in terms of firmware version and age. Revision: 1.03 ... Firmware date: 2013-11-06 12:34:56 I will do the update and post the result when it's done. UH...
