Re: decrypting ISO of a blue ray movie made on a PS3

You shouldn't be using a PS3 to make backups of commercially released movies, use AnyDVD, DVDFab or MakeMKV on a PC with a blu-ray drive instead to create a full decrypted .iso backup of any particular disc and do what you like with the resulting file (usually around 40-50GB for BD movies!), such as...

Re: Bug report: Built-in browser corrupt on Windows XP

You shouldn't be using Windows XP in 2018...

It hasn't been updated for years and is no longer supported by a lot of software now, do yourself a favour and buy a new PC with Windows 10 pre-installed...

Re: The Wayback Machine - Avatar Extended Collector's Editio

Still unfixed in version 1.10.8... The problem is MakeMKV selecting the wrong playlists (1,2 and 3) with too many chapters (the correct playlists with the right number of chapters are indeed 850, 851 and 852 as cyborg mentioned!), there really should be a way to manually select the correct pl...

Re: The Wayback Machine - Avatar Extended Collector's Editio

This issue still occurs in version 1.10.7 of MakeMKV! All three versions of Avatar present on disc 1 of the extended collector's edition (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Avatar-Extende ... 003UVAAPQ/) have too many chapters because MakeMKV is selecting the wrong playlists, with the resulting MKV files ther...

Re: The Wayback Machine - Avatar Extended Collector's Editio

I recently tried ripping the UK blu-ray release of Avatar (Extended Collector's Edition - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Avatar-Extende ... 003UVAAPQ/) with the latest version of MakeMKV (1.10.6) and found that it lists way too many chapters (73!) for the film (with the resulting MKV file therefore having...

Support for newer discs perhaps?

Re: 4K Blu-ray's

I don't know, but I think its going to be a while until 4K blu-rays can be ripped with various software in the way that regular blu-rays can now!

Is MakeMKV compatible with Windows 10?

Title says it all, I'm thinking about upgrading to Windows 10 (64-bit Home edition) soon, shortly before the free upgrade offer ends, I just wanted to know whether MakeMKV works in Windows 10? Its just that Windows 10 is not mentioned in the system requirements on this page: /download/ Also, there h...

Re: Why Beta?

Take a look at other software that has "release versions". One I use is handbrake (handbrake.fr). The release version is "feature locked". The only changes to it are to fix bugs in the features that were there when the release was set. If you want one of the features introduced ...

Re: Why Beta?

I agree, its been in beta for far too long, as I've said before, the upcoming version 2.00 of MakeMKV would be a good point for it to come out of beta! But the developers never take any notice of this and seem to want it to remain in beta indefinitely for some strange reason! It also annoys me that ...

Re: when will ya be updating makemkv?

Yeah, I agree with the subsequent posts that it will be a while before UHD discs can be copied in the way that DVD's/regular BD's can now, the copy protection scheme will have to be reverse engineered which will probably take months or even a year or 2! Not only that, there is a lack of hardware (an...

Re: How to view individual DVD segment maps?

There is no software I know of that can do this (although someone else may know!), however the first angle is likley to be the original title and the second angle is quite often the same title but with alternative CGI effects or something like that!

What about .m4v files, do they have chapters as part of their specification?

Technically, that is more illegal than making a copy of a disc that you actually own, but yeah no one's ever going to know that a copy has been made!
