Re: ASUS BW-12B1ST

I'm not sure I believe this - the BW has a close cousin the BC that has at least one confirmed use out in the wild and another that I've seen and has since been deleted. https://www.reddit.com/r/hometheater/comments/8jfwza/dont_forget_to_check_out_the_local_library_i_dont/dz02nfl/ I am going to try ...

Did this ever get resolved?
Which part?
This is the BluRay forum however in this thread you have reports on both the BluRay and DVD.
I, for one, had no issues with the BluRay.
Really? I still can't get that title to come up in MakeMKV.

Re: Unable to read UHD with friendly drives

I made a mistake earlier - I have the BC not the BW which I believe should work. Someone posted on AVS (and then had their post erased, mysteriously) that their same drive (Asus BC-12B1ST) with 3.00 firmware worked Problem is I can't seem to locate 3.00 firmware for that drive. and the Asus page sho...

Re: Unable to read UHD with friendly drives

I don’t own a 4k pj yet anyways. Was just fooling around to see if it worked.

My 49” uhd tv is not the best use of that technology

And Star Wars TLJ is one of the hardest 4K UHD titles to rip, hands down :)
So apparently I really know how to pick em!

Re: Unable to read UHD with friendly drives

I just tried this for the first time this morning.

Put in Star Wars TLJ (the only 4k disc I own) and make mkv came back "no disc" after it spun for 60 seconds...

ASUS BW-12B1ST v1.02 & Win10 in a HP XW4600

I have never had any issues with any regular BR disc with this drive.

Re: Move Black Bars to Bottom?

Just to circle back on this yes Handbrake can do what I'm asking but even at best Settings it compresses the file A lot

The foolproof solve to this is buy a PJ with lens memory and better vertical shift like the epson 4000

Unfortunately I don't know if that PJ's throw will fit in my theater

Re: Move Black Bars to Bottom?

You can remove them completely with a tool like handbrake, which will crop them off, but... Your projector will put them back on when it displays the video, because your display is not the same aspect ratio. Is there a hand brake script to put the bars at the bottom? Probably wrong place to ask rig...

Move Black Bars to Bottom?

My theater has a bit of a problem with low ceilings. Watching movies and using the back row requires tilting the PJ up so that the image fills the top of the screen. This of course requires the use of keystoning which makes the picture worse. What I would like to do is project the 2.35 wide image at...
