Re: Progress on AACS 2.1?

Sometimes it is a matter of principle. Eventually there will be more than 2 titles that use it.

"Marry" Poppins Returns?

I noticed in the hash file a list for Marry Poppins Returns.
Yes Mary is mis-spelled. Does that name come from the disc itself? Does the plain text part matter at all?

Re: Attention. Ver 2.1 protection out

No word on this for a couple of weeks. I wonder if Mike is any closer to supporting 2.1? Anyone heard anything? I think that just someday, we will be surprised with an update. One would guess by now Mike has reverse engineered how the other program does it, so we can hope it's a matter of time, soo...

Re: The Dark Knight Trilogy - The Dark Knight Rises

Any time I have had Hash Check errors I have usually ripped the entire disc to an image, then ripped from the image. Not sure why that works. Anyway, glad you figured it out this time.

Re: Single, horizontal green line top of screen in bluray ri

Never seen this issue... ever. I use K-Lite codec pack with Media Player Classic. My copy of VLC doesn't do this either, probably because K-Lite is decoding it.

Don't want to install codecs? Media Player Classic Black Edition or Kodi (or whatever it's called now)

Re: Hashed Key Thread Updateing Notifications?

what about a database for 4k hashed keys the same used for normal blurays and dvds Honestly, worst case scenario, this site or the servers get shut down, if you have the hashed key file locally, you can always decrypt them. Much like I would like to maintain a copy locally of all BD patches, but I ...

Re: Correct title not being listed, for example Hostiles DVD

You will not likely see an easy answer to this. Lionsgate/Summit releases almost always have bad sector protection and lots of extra playlists. Not sure if there's a way to submit specific files to Mike for dvds, I have had to use other means in the past to get such dvds to work.

Re: Help with Failure of 1 Disc, Blade Runner Final Cut

What is your question? You have a disc read error. There is a link at the bottom of the status screen. Does not matter if the disc is brand new out of the package. Could be the disc itself, something on the disc from the factory even if the disc looks clean, or the drive having a mismatch with the d...

Re: What is the correct play list [insert title here]?

Hello, I found a neat way to figure out what title is real and which are fake. I simply bring up VLC Media Player and load the disc in DISC mode. When the menu comes up I select the movie (or episode for TV series) and start them playing. I then pause the movie and go to the top menu of VLC Media p...

A lot of vendors are producing their discs in the same crappy factory in Mexico. I've have hand prints on box sets from said factory.

I know with MPC-HC you have two options under video - Touch From Inside, Touch From Outside. Anyway, you got it fixed!

I am happy to answer any questions I can, and I will edit the first post as needed. I created the post because much of what's out there seems to be from 2008 or older. Anything newer involves commercial software, software that doesn't work as advertised or command line programs that many of us would...

Correctly recode PAL 25fps dvds to standard 23.976 fps

Many American TV shows are shot in 24fps, or more correctly 23.976, and when they're mastered for the UK, the studio will often do it the lazy way and simply speed up playback to match the 25fps data rate. Converting this back is actually not too hard with the right tools. You can choose to leave th...
