Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
I bought an Asus BW-16D1HT in an enclosure and preflashed to 3.10MK due to some issues with another drive that I flashed myself. At first it worked great, but now it’s acting pretty finicky and I don’t know if it’s the drive, the enclosure, or something else. I’ve had it fail on a 4K rip and then wo...

Re: Something funky is going on
In an answer to my own post, whatever wonky thing going on with my drive was fixed by..... replacing the drive. Why the hell did it start failing so soon I don’t know. I’ve used it almost exclusively for 4K and I don’t have that many yet. So when you read it’s either the disc or the drive, take it t...

Something funky is going on
Earlier today I spent hours trying to get a UHD to rip and opened a thread for it. After also having other issues with loading hash tables and putting in a workaround, I went to test MakeMKV with a known good disc that I already ripped. First try got the hash table and then it got hung up with corru...

Re: "automatic sdf downloading is disabled or failed" while decrypting
Dude. My internet provider (Spectrum) has fine DNS. Why the hell would I, or anyone else for that matter, need to use a 3rd party DNS service? Trying to hide something? And if MakeMKV has to use a specific single server that for whatever reason drops off some normal DNS servers, then yes, MakeMKV i...

Re: "automatic sdf downloading is disabled or failed" while decrypting
So....... seriously, when is this going to have a proper fix? I have to change DNS servers back and forth every time I want to rip something. I need my local routers DNS working cause I have it doing some local DNS stuff. If I put my router first in the list than MakeMKV fails. If I put it last in ...

Re: Having some trouble with Terminator Genisys UHD
After giving up on this and rebooting one more time, I managed to get this working. Absolutely no idea why it kept failing before.

Having some trouble with Terminator Genisys UHD
I got another UHD (Terminator Genisys) to rip today and I'm having all kinds of issues with it. First it was complaining with a SCSI error, then a decryption error, then a m2ts corrupt error, and then it inevitably fails to open the disc. I've cleaned the disc, tried another USB port, tried another ...

Re: "automatic sdf downloading is disabled or failed" while decrypting
Well that was fun. I read through this several times and wasn't sure what the official fix was. Manually downloaded the file and watched the app ingest the file, same error. flushed DNS on my Mac and router, same error. Manually changed my DNS servers on my Mac and rebooted - no error so I assume th...

Re: BU40N - Which firmware is best?
I don't know... hence why I was asking :-) I only know the DE is "Downgrade Enable" and the other 3 are MK images, but not sure of the exact differences. Well, everything is working now so I’m happy. If anyone knows what the other versions do and if I should use one, please let me know. I...

You’re right about that. This is the fastest drive I currently have! Thank you and thanks to all that make this possible!

BU40N - Which firmware is best?
Hi there. I purchased an Archgon-8107S so I could rip UHD's and I've successfully downgraded it in a Windows VM to version 1.00. I saw a few other firmwares in the zip file, but wasn't sure which was best. Is 1.00 OK or should I use one of the other ones? I am able to read UHD now so at least that's...

LG BP5050NB40 support
I just purchased a second external drive so I can rip multiple BR's on my Mac. I had no idea that there was a possibility with this drive to be able to rip UHD material though. I saw the error about the LibreDrive firmware on my first rip and was like, what the heck is that all about?! Anyway, I don...

Installed DASPI before knowing if it was needed. Issues?
I downloaded and used MakeMKV for the first time today with a new Pioneer BR player/burner. I opened up the DMG and saw the daspi file and thought it must be needed so I installed it along with copying MakeMKV to applications. I was able to backup a BR with no issues on my first try, but now that I ...
