How can I update the database?
It's automatic. Assuming you have "Allow contacting web server for updates" checked on the General preferences tab, a check for SDF/HK updates is performed on MakeMKV startup & updates are reported in the status pane.

Re: AACS 2.1 support

Trying to access the movie "your name", its the 4kuhd edition with aacs 2.1, mkv has trouble decrypting it. added the dump file as an attachment. my other question is: why does makemkv say this?; https://i.imgur.com/Uqe3kdq.png is there a problem with my bd reader? do i need a different one? Can't ...

I see that MakeMKV can have more than one instance running on Windows 10. Can it rip multiple discs simultaneously?
To facilitate this, check "Ask for single drive mode" on the IO preferences tab. This asks you to assign a specific optical drive to each instance of MakeMKV & avoids conflicts.

Re: Gladiator 4K UHD

Given the 2 options, disc or drive, the less expensive of the 2 seemed the wisest choice to try. Good luck with Endgame.

Same issue for me.

Dumb question: how do I send a dump file?
https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 12&t=16883

Refer to section 'How do I discover the key for a disc I have?'.

Re: Gladiator 4K UHD

Replace the disc? " The ONLY reason for this error is inability of the drive to read the data from the disc. This is caused by a damaged disc , failing drive, or both. The error comes from the drive before MakeMKV has an opportunity to look at the data. Nothing else can cause this error - no protect...

Failed to save title 1 to file F:/Video/Gladiator/Gladiator_t01.mkv
Encountered 1 errors of type 'Read Error' - see http://www.makemkv.com/errors/read/
0 titles saved, 1 failed
I'd recommend giving the disc a good cleaning.

MakeMKV v1.14.4 win(x64-release) started
The new version 1.14.7 is available for download at http://www.makemkv.com/download/
Thanks for any guidance!
Typically a good idea to install the latest version & retry. If it still fails, repost the log.

Re: Zombieland 4K UHD AACS 2.1

Does anyone else have a version of Zombieland that won't decrypt? I have the latest version of MakeMKV but it gives me a dump and says "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted". I sent the dump in 10 days ago but haven't heard anything...in the past the discs were usually...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

Follow-up; I now see the source of my confusion; I was using this guide to learn MakeMKV while waiting for the drive and discs, but had declined the first few times the program asked to begin the evaluation period. So, weeks later, when actually trying to use the program there was no offer to again...

Re: AACS 2.1 support

@mike admin, I mentioned this already in various unrelated other posts. The mkv file format doesn't cover all features anymore that are available on UHD discs today. Especially DolbyVison and HDR. Therefore I use makemkv only to decrypt UHDs and copy to folder w/o converting to mkv. My opinion is t...

Re: Samsung SE 506 info

In the changlog, I see: MakeMKV v1.14.4 (6.6.2019 ) Added support for AACS v70 (for those poor souls without LibreDrive) but for the latest versions, I see no such notation, so it's possible that AACS v72 remains unsupported for "those poor souls without LibreDrive"?: MakeMKV v1.14.7 (4.12.2019 ) Bu...

Re: No streaming icon on MakeMKV

I am using the latest MakeMkv version (v.1.14.7) both windows and linux version . It is registered version. Streaming icon is nowhere to be found. What to do? It was removed (quite) a while back. From MakeMKV revision history: MakeMKV v1.14.0 (5.11.2018 ) ... Obsolete features: Removed UPNP streami...

Re: Jurassic Park 4K - Volume Key s unknown.

First time creating a dump file but it's 576mb's and not too sure what do with it. Refer to section "How do I discover the key for a disc I have?" https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16883 If the dump is too large to email directly, upload to some free cloud file-sharing service (i.e...
