Do keys for the uhd disks get automatically added to the software?
Or do you have to add them manually?

Re: Flashing drive firmware with Linux ? - WH16NS40

Hi, I've been reading the forum, but have not seen any discussion on flashing drive firmware using linux. Not everyone uses or has a windows installation (nor wants to pay for Microsoft spyware). Are there any flash tools and guides for linux? Have any of the windows flash utilities been tested usi...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2021

Thank you so much. I'm a bit confused as some drives that are not marked UHD can still be used, but maybe there is a way to tell that I have not figured out. Nevertheless, I found that I could import the Buffalo BRUHD-PU3-BK UHD BD from Germany and that one should be flashable *fingers crossed*. Of...

Not exactly what you're asking for, but try checking 'Ask for single drive mode' on the 'IO' preferences tab & restart MakeMKV.

Re: Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit 4K (Finally!)

Hi, one question, after sending in the dump-file. How long dose it take for publishing the right key-file, in average? UHD FAQ I submitted a dump, how long does it take? Once submitted, the turnaround can be pretty fast, between 12 to 48 hours. When you submit a dump, ensure that: - You are using t...

Re: Command line to create Dolby Vision MKV file in Linux

Your version of MediaInfo MAY still be too old. MediaInfo change log: Version 20.09, 2020-10-09 ------------- + Dolby ED2: full featured support (presentations, presentation targets, beds, objects) + MKV: support of Dolby Vision metadata + MXF: detection of Dolby E hidden in PCM tracks having more t...

Re: Feature Request

I love this feature but it doesn't completely uncheck everything only the main title window. What i mean is once you expand a title to see the audio tracks and subs ect they are all still highlighted. So i have to uncheck hundreds of sub options on every title to cut down the mkv size. I wish it wo...

where can you actually also change the drive speed in MakeMKV to improve the reading of problematic discs? Such as e.g. at Any.

Re: Changing default MKV audio track (Game of Thrones + Atmos)

I'm an Emby guy, but a rescan seems reasonable to update metadata displayed. If Plex is anything like Emby, a quick scan is performed for any playback request to evaluate whether transcoding is required, so I expect it would look at flags? Try playing the updated file & see. Pretty simple experiment...

Re: Changing default MKV audio track (Game of Thrones + Atmos)

Use the MKVToolNix Header Editor. Just select the desired element, set the default flag & 'save' from the 'Header editor' pull-down.

Thank you for doing some up front research. Too many just jump in without understanding what they are doing, don't ask & end up w/ a brick. Potential disaster averted.

Regarding what I read here for this device is not a good idea to put a new firmware, right? If so I can brick it.
You are correct. Go no further. Drive HW is too old for UHD & as capable as it's gonna get.
