Re: ASUS BW-16D1X-U - Flashable?
Thanks to both of you for a quick reply. I guess I will need to look around for a Windows pc. Buying a flashed drive from the US would be too expensive (import duties, customs clearance fees, VAT and shipping costs would amount to anything between 50% and 80% of the US selling price). There are buy...

Re: Ripping 4K UHD Disks
@segfaulted seems to think the domain has changed but the IP is the same? I haven't analyzed traffic, so I'm not in a position to dispute that, but I'm dubious. The 'hosts' mod is only valid if you KNOW the current domain & associate the IP. My router is configured for SmartDNS (CloudFlare/Quad...

Re: Ripping 4K UHD Disks
You've tried a VPN. You've tried alternative DNS servers. Something is blocking access... either a local firewall, or something upstream. What, if any, firewall do you use locally?
Have you tried any VPN endpoints outside of the EU?

Re: Ripping 4K UHD Disks
I wonder if your drive is doing what two of mine did. Mine just stopped being able to rip UHD disks over time, sometime after 200 rips. Happened with both of my WH16NS60 drives. They both can rip DVDs and Blu-rays, just not UHD. My BP50NB40 and BP60NB10 drives work fine with UHD disks. Can you post...

Thanks for the help @dcoke22. I created a folder on my Desktop called "ASUS firmware" and put the the sdf.bin file and the relevant firmware file in it, but all I keep getting is "quote>" after I type everything in Terminal and hit Return. This is what I see Terminal: Last login...

Re: Ripping 4K UHD Disks
It could be a DNS issue. Have you tried manually adding the hkdata domains to your system's hosts file? See this: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=141837#p141837 Yes I followed the instructions in reference topic. MakeMKV still fails on a 4K disk. My DNS server assignment in Win 11 P...
