Re: A Dog's Way home main feature?

Maybe there are different movie version on the disc. Check the length and the MPLS stream segment maps for each of them. If they are all identical, different audio and subtitle tracks are inlcuded.

Re: Need help understanding which chapters to choose

On most box sets you have one title for each "episode" and an overall playlist which includes ALL "episodes". This can be verified by selecting all the single episodes and take a look into the MPLS stream segment map. Write it down or remember it. Now look into the overall MPLS playlist and you can ...

Re: Sherlock Holmes "Red Circle" Audio Sync

A wrong Sync can be corrected with "MKVToolNIX GUI". Load the created MKV file in MKVToolNIX, select the wrong audio track and look ino the right below area. There is a "Timestamp and default duration" section. Now enter in the "Delay (in ms)" field the value. f.e. "100" to shift the audio track 100...

Re: Choose only 5.1 core stream

Can be done with "-sel:all,+sel:(ger|eng|nolang),-sel:(havecore),-sel:mvcvideo,=100:all,-50:ger,-10:forced"

Selects all tracks with ger, eng and nolang and deselects the HD part if an core part is available. Works for DD and DTS tracks.

What is the exact problem/error? You wrote nothing about it.

Re: Changes Aspect Ratio

Just checked, only the first three Bonds have black side bares because they are in approx 1:1,66 aspect ratio, all others have no side bars because most of them are in 1:2,35 (black bars on top and below).

Re: Changes Aspect Ratio

I'm talking about black bars on the sides as the thread creator. MakeMKV does not change the content.

Re: Changes Aspect Ratio

I'm sure that there are NO black bars inside the mkv file. To add this, MakeMKV have to re-encode the stream from the Blu-ray, but this does not happen. VLC has also some tricky options for zoom, Aspect etc.

Re: Unable to rip 5.1 or 7.1 audio off of blurays

What audio tracks are selected in the expanded title view? If the Blu-ray can be read, there is no reason why tracks should not be copied.

Did you verify your assumption with f.e "MediaInfo"?

Re: Night At The Museum Closed Captions Issue

I am familiar with the concepts transcoding/re-encoding (i think some people use the term "muxing") to all convey the same process... Re-encoding has NOTHING to do with muxing. Muxing means, that different stream files (video, audio(s), subtitle(s)) are packaged together without modification into a...

Re: Night At The Museum Closed Captions Issue

I just want to be able to direct play my movies with the forced subs that apparently Blu Ray players can handle just fine! :P Blu-ray player passes an "Video Signal" via HDMI to the TV. This means, decode the video stream and put them in the output buffer and overlay it with the subtitle and send i...

Re: Night At The Museum Closed Captions Issue

Keep in mind I am ONLY doing this for movies with forced subs for foreign language scenes, so there should be minimal effort required to do this, I just don't know what software package to use, or if one even exists... I'm a little bit confused. There is no tool and no way available to do this with...

Re: Dolby True HD problems with Creed 2 and The Nun

Most of the TVs accepts only Dolby Digital 2.0 (max DD 5.1) or PCM 2.0, but not the enhanced formats like normal DTS or DTS HD Master or Dolby Dgital True HD. These formats are only playable meaningful with some AV Receivers with a lot of speakers connected. I would say, it makes zero sense to use t...
