Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past

Why so complicated?

MPLS 800 has segment map 1984,1985,1986
MPLS 801 has segemnt map 1984,1987,1986

Make a decrypted backup, go to the backup folder, subfolder BDMV/STREAM and view the twi different files from the above MPLS 01986,m2ts and 01987.m2ts

Re: Why Multiple English (Surround 5.1) Audio Tracks?

but I still wind up with an output file that just says "English" 3 or so times, rather than "Main", "Descriptive", "Commentary", etc. The streams has no specific indicators. The selction of what is played is done over the Blu-ray Menus and you know, every Menu looks different. I don't think that th...

Re: Bad DVD

Hardware players jumps over read errors and ignores the part. If you cannot create a "error free" copy, this error (or other errors) are also on the duplicate.

Is it possible to burn the DVD and then try ripping the burned copy? Or do you think it will give the same error?
If you think about this, I'm sure you know the answer. Or with other words: Garbage in, Garbage out!

Re: Error when muxing 2 disc's to single file

VTS_01 .BUP .IFO The IFO file describes the DVD structure and content, the BUP is the backup file. now but still not sure why 02's, 03's & 04's are there, other than maybe should one fail a player then seeks the next good one in the sequence. Have been looking at using these as far as MKVToolNix go...

No Image !

For a merge, all streams must be identical, used codecs and formats and number of streams and sequence.

Re: Thor 3 & Others - Skipping and Video Problems

How NAS works and so on: Use google serach :-) As told, if one of your single 8TB drives failes, you lost any data on them. Using an NAS with RAID5 or 6 it is no problem if one (or two in case of RAID6) drives failes, the drive is replaced and the NAS starts an RAID rebuild with parity data from the...

If I then put that .mkv into MakeMKV and remux just the single audio track and the video to a new .mkv the AV sync issue returns !?
Strange process .... never done this in this way.

What happens if you do the removal with "MKVToolNIX GUI" ?

Re: General synchronization problems (picture vs. sound)

Can I consider the project a failure? Something in your process, hardware, software is the cause of your problem. If MakemKV is doing a bad job, I'm sure, that the forum shows this with many similar problem reports. MakeMKV simply decrypt and copy the content to a file, it does not modify it. Video...

Re: Understanding Subtitles--Please Explain!

Rip all subtitle tracks for your language(s), figure it out with f.e. VLC, and use "MKVTollNIX GUI" to remove unwanted and reorder it and set flags (Default / Forced) and Name it (if wanted) and remux the mkv file. There is no other way.

Re: Do I need to keep a lossy DTS track if I have lossless DTS-HD MA?

No, the DTS lossy track is extracted from the DTS Master track and not needed. Each DTS HD track has always an 5.1 core which is separated as an extra lossy track by MakeMKV. But please note, an DTS HD Master track is very huge and needs very good equipment to hear the addional "sound".

Re: Possible to create decrypted UHD backup from encrypted backup?

I think this is not possible, because as you already told, if the backup is opened you see the disc titles like opening a disc and the backup option is not available. The backup works only with the physical disc.
