Had lots of problems with Disc 2, tried downloading the cfg file but that didn't work. Cleaned the disc, which produced some serious hazing, rebooted a few times, but finally got it to work by switching to my non-UHD blu-ray drive.

Re: last jedi
Anyone know how to extract the "score-only" track? I extracted the 3 english tracks and they were: normal audio, descriptive/visual impaired, and directory commentary

Re: UHD drives
Same UHD disc (Amazing Spider-man 2)
LG with 1.02 FM is getting about 25 M/s peak
ASUS with 3.01 FM is getting about 32 M/s peak
Will definitely be looking into x-flashing the LG before putting into the closet as a backup drive.

Re: UHD drives
I can confirm I did get a sv50 unit with a date of manufacture of august 2017. looks like it might be refurb units mine came in bubble wrap only with no documentation Maybe, maybe not. Lots of "OEM" drives just come in a plastic bag. If you go by a place like Microcenter, they have a bin ...

Re: UHD drives
I would say so, but the prices fluctuate. I bought mine in Dec from Amazon for $63 + $25 rebate, which I just got confirmation ASUS is actually going to process :o I did order one of these LG's from Newegg for a backup, but totally forgot it has to be SVC code NS50 to work. Mine should arrive on Thu...

Re: UHD drives
Decided to buy a second ASUS BW-16D1HT for peace of mind. First one was Dec 2016 3.00. New one is Jan 2017 3.00, and is also working just fine. My regular Blu-ray drive for ripping, an LG GGC-H20L, is still running happily since 2008! This! Just went out to check prices and ouch! $85-100+ now for t...

Re: Processing UHD rips with Handbrake or other software
The other tool I occasionally use is RipBot264. Its windows only, and a bit to setup but thei latest release notes imply they fully support HDR.

Re: Processing UHD rips with Handbrake or other software
I guess the nightly builds of Handbrake support HDR for x265 encodings. I haven't tried this yet since I have had troubles with using the nightly builds and release builds on the same machine and don't want to mess with my normal release-version of handbrake. But if you are looking for a Mac solutio...

Re: A little confused
Thanks for running the test!!! :D I asked the Shield and it lead me to videos that helped me figure out the audio. Like you found VLC worked with no adjustment. The next and bigger problem if I'm trying to play 4k HDR videos on my 1080P set they look washed out. Both VLC and Kodi looked the same. W...

Re: A little confused
Well, I'm a Plex guy, so I use Plex. I have Kodi installed on my Shield, but never use it. I'll play around with it this weekend and let you know. I don't know for sure if VLC is in the TV Google store, but you might check that out. Edit: checked the Google Store, says VLC is compatible with all ve...
