Hi,
Is there a reason to choose one type ( DM/MK) over the other? Drive is BW-16D1HT.
Thx,
D.
MK's are specifically designed to work with libredrive (and some only work with MakeMKV). The DE is friendly firmware for libredrive and any other software.

I got a BW-16D1HT. Not quite sure what firmware I best put on it now.. a DM or MK one?
Some folk go with DE 3.02, others with MK 3.10. Both work well with MakeMKV and/or anyDVD. Dealers choice. MK 3.10 is a little better with triple layer discs I believe.

What would be the best FW option for my LG BH16NS55 drive (EU) with original 1.02 fw. Currently it works flawlessly and LibreDrive is supported. Would upgrade/sidegrade/downgrade to some other fw offer improvements like even faster ripping speed or no "sleep bug"? Any suggestions? There are a coupl...

Re: Completely Lost with LG WH16NS40

I purchased this drive because "duh" I thought it would be UHD ready. It appears not. Can someone point me to where I can get instructions on how to "flash" this so it works properly. It has the 1.03 firmware installed. Here you go! Just make sure your WH16NS40 has NS50 written on the bottom right ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Well, whether the difference is visible or not is different topic. And this is very dependent in viewing environment, equipment and viewer. That's not true at all; HEVC is NOT just a lossy codec. It can be perfectly lossless. In fact, Blurays use HEVC :) This is also such minor compression, we're t...

(continued from previous post) So what do you make of this? Ok, Please go into Preferences in MakeMKV and make sure that 'enable to contact webserver for updates' is checked. Restart MakeMKV and insert UHD disc and start backup to Folder. MakeMKV should now contact the server and download LibreDriv...
