Re: UHD Friendly & Official drives for sale & flashing service (currently Australia & NZ only)

I am but it's been a wee while so I thought I'd check if you are still doing these and if this firmware change you do on them removes riplock if it is there? Yep, I just got a delivery of BH16NS55's this morning. I also flashed my own drives and have never had an issue with riplock. You can see all...

Re: Heads up - Support for LG UHD drives

I have a Mac, BU50N (firmware 1.01 I believe, I don't have it with me) and around 25 4K disks. If there are any beta testing opportunities for this feature/drive support, I'd be more than happy to help. :) Did you have to flash downgrade the firmware on your drive to get it to recognize 4K discs? I...

Re: Custom firmware pack with LibreDrive patches

Yeah I looked at that thread which prompted me to buy the Archgon MD-8107S-U3-UHD. It's a nice drive. I get this from makemkv: Current profile: DVD-ROM Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST Product: BD-RE BU40N Revision: 1.01 Serial number: Firmware date: 2117-12-22 12:21 Bus encryption flags: 1F Highest AACS ver...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I posted yesterday, I tested Braveheart. Somehow my message did not come through? Anyway, I muxed it from the 0800.mpls playlist with mkvtoolnix. Then used the mkv.cmd script from Grencolas dv-mp4-maker. Works fine on my LC C7. Here’s an update to my experience with Braveheart DV mp4. There are two...

Re: In US, looking to purchase 4k ready drive

I've seen a couple people here that sell 4k ready firmware'd drives. I'm interested in purchasing one. I would have directly messaged them but I just registered, so it won't let me PM. Can someone message me with contact details? See this thread https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19...

Hi,
Is there a reason to choose one type ( DM/MK) over the other? Drive is BW-16D1HT.
Thx,
D.
MK's are specifically designed to work with libredrive (and some only work with MakeMKV). The DE is friendly firmware for libredrive and any other software.

I got a BW-16D1HT. Not quite sure what firmware I best put on it now.. a DM or MK one?
Some folk go with DE 3.02, others with MK 3.10. Both work well with MakeMKV and/or anyDVD. Dealers choice. MK 3.10 is a little better with triple layer discs I believe.

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

What would be the best FW option for my LG BH16NS55 drive (EU) with original 1.02 fw. Currently it works flawlessly and LibreDrive is supported. Would upgrade/sidegrade/downgrade to some other fw offer improvements like even faster ripping speed or no "sleep bug"? Any suggestions? There are a coupl...
