Re: Subtitle flags: Occasional missing Default flag

Thanks Chetwood! I opened a thread on Doom9 ( http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=169789 ) to see if there was an easy solution on the player end, and the initial response there is "no, default flag has to be present per specs." Here's what the MKVMerge Header Editor shows for these tr...

Re: Subtitle flags: Occasional missing Default flag

Oh, for what it's worth, I'm on Win7x64 SP1, using MakeMKV 1.8.6.

Any thoughts about the missing versus "no" default flag appreciated.

Re: Subtitle flags: Occasional missing Default flag

Thanks Chetwood for the reply! I have a followup question. Sometimes the correct subtitle track I want is not the first. So, automatically marking the first sub track as Default=Yes may not be correct. Mostly I want to make sure there are no sub tracks with the Default flag completely absent. In oth...

Subtitle flags: Occasional missing Default flag

Hi folks, I've been working hard to get my subtitles working properly on the various players I use, primarily MPC-HC using LAV, and I'm nearly to getting it perfect. MakeMKV does a great job ripping and is my favorite tool. The only problem is that on some content, either bluray or DVD sourced, the ...

Re: Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Any update on this? I believe I'm getting the movie for Xmas, and would hate to have to search through three rips to find the right one... kinda ruins the movie to see scenes from it in advance.

Re: How to Auto-deselect specific audio format (LPCM)?

Hmmm. No joy. I tried adding it into the end of the profile using advanced mode: -sel:all,+sel:(favlang|nolang),-sel:(havemulti|havecore),-sel:mvcvideo,=100:all,-10:favlang,-sel:LPCM-multi And it gave me an error (well, many errors all identical): Profile parsing error: Invalid token '-sel:LPCM-mult...

Re: How to Auto-deselect specific audio format (LPCM)?

Hmm. Good stuff in there. Looks like I may be able to set in something like:
-sel:LPCM-multi

...into the selection rules. I'll have to give it a whirl tonight.

How to Auto-deselect specific audio format (LPCM)?

Hi folks, My audio setup is an older one and handles DD and DTS but not LPCM. This caused trouble recently for me when ripping LOST Bluray edition season 3, which has LPCM as the first audio track. My MakeMKV rips had both LPCM and DD, but since I play them in Windows Media Center which has no nativ...

Oh. OK. I'm dumb as dirt. There's a whole info window I was missing some how. Selective blindness, I guess.

Question: How to identify title # in selection list?

Hi folks, I've been wondering this a while but with Hunger Games and the long title list, I figured it was time to find an answer or put in a feature request if there isn't a good answer. Simply put, when I'm choosing which titles to select, how do I figure out WHICH title is which? During decryptio...

Re: The Hunger Games BD, which chapters to choose

This seems like what they did with Breaking Dawn. Very annoying. And... when we are presented with the list of "Title" options all we see is "Title" without a title number, just the number of chapters and the size. Is there some way to identify in that long list which title # and...

Re: Choppy MKV VC1 Playback

Built in Win7 decoder doesn't generally work with DXVA for VC1. I usually use the filter from MPCHC assigned via filter tweaker so it doesn't mess anything else up.

Surprised this hasn't been fixed yet...

Re: Editing MKV file

Most folks seem to use a free package called MKVToolnix. It contains a tool called MKVMerge that will let you select which tracks you wish and remux the file.

Re: Contagion (US) Won't Rip to MKV

Ditto - cannot rip my US Vers of Contagion - dump file sent, but I received an error message that said your Mailbox is full. What gives? His mailbox is full from users sending him Contagion dump files, I would imagine! I sent him one yesterday morning. 4 MB worth of data. Multiply that by a decent ...
