Re: Where does MakeMKV get a discs "name"?

The default template always generates unique file names. There are 3 important attributes each title may (or may not) have, that define the value of substitution variables: Name - this is the title name that usually comes from disc metadata, or the value assigned in GUI. That's interesting. So, is ...

Re: Duplicate and missing subtitles from Inside Job

I don't have this particular disc, but my advice would be: - Check for alternate playlists - Check the original m2ts files (Please note that this thread has been moved to the "Blu-ray discs" forum.) Thanks for the suggestion. I used Process Monitor with PowerDVD to identify the m2ts and m...

Duplicate and missing subtitles from Inside Job

On the disk, there's 3 English subtitles accessible through the menus. Normal, SDH, and commentary. Technically, there's a 4th one because there are some forced subtitle scenes when someone speaks a foreign language. But that's obviously not accessible in the menus. In MakeMKV, there's 4 (8 if you i...

Re: Swapping Audio Tracks

MediaInfo suggests that the file sizes are the same, 26.4 GiB. How much different are the file sizes on the filesystem? If it is a small amount, it might just be from changes like this: Before: Encoded date : UTC 2021-04-01 05:57:11 Writing application : MakeMKV v1.16.3 win(x64-release) Writing lib...

Where does MakeMKV get a discs "name"?

I thought it was from the volume label. But I've changed it on several of my ISO's and MakeMKV is still showing the old disc name when I open it.

Re: Swapping Audio Tracks

What does MediaInfo ( https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo ) say on your 'before' file vs your 'after' file? As a side note, in the Plex web app I think you pick the audio track you want Plex to play and then it will remember your choice. Picking your preferred audio track in Plex might be less hassl...

Swapping Audio Tracks

I don't know how many of you use Plex, or how many of you know that Plex doesn't care about the "default" MKV flag for audio tracks. There's a decent chunk of MKV's that have the "default" audio track in the 2nd or 3rd slot on the list. Plex seems to always just pick the first on...

Re: MakeMKV not listing detected .VOB's correctly.

I just did some more digging for the Blu-ray rips and found that MakeMKV is "skipping" the .mpls containing the correct playlist. It says "Title 00041.mpls is equal to title 00009.mpls and was skipped". In this case 00041.mpls is not equal to 0009.mpls as 0041.mpls is 03:17:52 an...

Re: MakeMKV not listing detected .VOB's correctly.

MakeMKV detected a series disc and split each episodes into individual file. So you want all episodes from the disc 2 to be combined as a single file? You can do this with DVD manual mode - /manualdvd/ . You will figure out the cell numbers, I can do it for you if you send the IFO files per /faq/it...

Re: MakeMKV not listing detected .VOB's correctly.

At this point, the best recommendation I can make is to follow the procedures in the FAQ link in my signature, and send the information to support@makemkv.com for evaluation. It may be that it can be "fixed" with a "manual dvd" string to force MakeMKV to separate the large files...

Re: MakeMKV not listing detected .VOB's correctly.

If you're going to post screen shots, it's actually better to shrink the MakeMKV window back to "standard" before you do the snapshot, so it isn't so hard to read your message... Without knowing what you used to make the ISOs, not really. Are you opening the ISO file, or are you mounting ...

MakeMKV not listing detected .VOB's correctly.

Hi, I have a couple of anime discs from my Dragon Ball collection that I ripped to ISO format. Now the discs with a problem happen to be Dragon Ball Season 1 Disc 2 and 4. If I browse for this ISO in MakeMKV it will show all .VOB files separately instead of being combined into one segment. I've atta...
