Re: Custom firmware pack with LibreDrive patches

When I open a disc MakeMKV says that Libredrive mode would be supported with patched firmware. I'm sure that this is true given that it's just a software limitation preventing me from opening these discs in Libredrive mode. I am convinced that it has something to do with the MK patched firmware not...

1. The Linux discussion forum can be found here: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3 In the forum Index is named "MakeMKV for Linux" 2. Within that Linux discussion forum there is this post: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19131 Which could be a viable option for you. T...

Re: Aquaman

I saw earlier in this thread somebody mentioned a BD drive in which it's working on. My drive is an LG Model GGC-H20L, who's last firmware ver. was over a decade ago, which is described as being only applicable for Windows Vista and XP systems. :/ Your drive is too old for UHD BD decryption. This t...

Re: Custom firmware pack with LibreDrive patches

Tried to flash my BC-12B1ST b 1.00. Successfully bricked the drive. Can we please just get a list of LibreDrive supported drives now so I can not mess with this stuff? I just want to get a drive that does UHD ripping and works with LibreDrive. Can we even get a short list of suggested UHD drives th...

Re: "Marry" Poppins Returns?

Yes. The disc titles/names come from whatever the studio/authoring company wants to name the disc most of the time. NOT at anyones control here. Just submit the dump to Mike to get yours supported as always. And as a reminder, starting several versions ago, key updates are automatic as long as you l...

Re: I'm sorry, I can't figure out this Libredrive thing.

I'm sure there's a way I can tell once I get the drive? After you install the drive and open up MakeMKV, the information window should look something like this: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=19116&p=72276&hilit=described+with+my+LG+BH16NS55#p72276 You want to see that exact dri...

Re: I'm sorry, I can't figure out this Libredrive thing.

Whatever you get, ensure it’s from a trusted seller that will sell/send you new drive. Do not buy second hand used drives. I’ve seen way too many people get burned that way when they end up receiving an old incompatible second hand drive from some random scammer on ebay. That 2015+ manufactured date...

Or you can use this service here: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=17829 I have not personally used his drive purchasing service but comes highly recommended and will literally walk you step by step through the entire purchase to backup process. I recommend you review that thread f...

Re: I'm sorry, I can't figure out this Libredrive thing.

On what could be a small bright side to this whole ordeal, if you purchase one of the newer compatible models from ASUS, like the BW-16D1HT, it will be a good drive and you'll be ready for UHD BD backups along with LibreDrive comparability when properly flashed to a compatible firmware provided in M...

Re: I'm sorry, I can't figure out this Libredrive thing.

The drive was purchased in 2014. Honestly I don't see that as relevant though, it has worked perfectly on it's own and with MakeMKV until these updates concerning LibreDrive. It's 100% relevant because there are several revisions of drives put out over the years by manufacturers/vendors. Each time ...

How old is this drive?

What year was it originally purchased?
