Re: UHD support

I just got an email from the support team saying my drive is working just fine. They said that it's a new version of the movie and asked for me to upload the accs file or whatever one it is. Forum search function works. Use it. https://www.makemkv.com/forum/search.php?keywords=volume+key+is+unknown...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

I have just bought a 'new' Asus BW-16D1HT drive which was slightly cheaper as 'open box'. The firmware version shown on the label is 1.01 and it shows manufacture on 31/08/2015 so it's not new at all although in new condition as far as I can see. I installed it in my Windows 10 PC. I tried to read ...

I would imagine the license the studios pay is very expensive.i wonder if the next copy protecton scheme the studios come up with will be just as complex as the one used for 4k discs.curious minds wonder😌
Studios do not “come up with” or develop AACS protection schemes. AACS LA, LLC does. As discussed above, studios just license it. For those curious minds, AACS LA makes available many of their forms/applications (which lists some of the fees) to purchase licenses/keys for mass disc production for multiple media formats on their website.

Some of these forms are extensive and list different types of fees throughout. These can add up and there are other fees behind that (implementation, authoring, etc) that also come into play for studios.

Regardless, as UHD BDs gain market share it may become a non-issue for studios to use other AACS 2.0 revisions. As profits may end up vastly outweighing costs. The format is still in its infancy and can very easily take a different direction with these revisions.

That cat and mouse game.

Re: How I Successfully Decoded ALL 3 AACS 2.1 Discs

I'm a little confused by this tutorial. If I read it correctly, you still need DeUHD to decrypt the disc, so what does MakeMKV does here other than let you resave it to an MKV container? Yes, that's the whole point of this post. It's very clearly detailed by the OP (and as I also mentioned above, i...

Re: Bricked BC-12B1ST by flashing to BW-16D1HT 3.02

Read this: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19071 The same process should apply to you/your drive if it’s not already in an unrecoverable state. AND you’ll have to find the proper original firmware for your drive to proceed with that DOSflash method if at all possible. Otherwise sa...

Re: How I Successfully Decoded ALL 3 AACS 2.1 Discs

This could help others barely coming into this to understand their current option for decrypting these AACS 2.1 titles, but it’s all known and has been discussed already quite a bit since Fury and The Patriot were released, followed by support from DeUHD (a simple search will provide these discussio...

Re: Stand By Me 4k aacs 2.1/c v70

Is this protection only on the UK version, or is it on versions released in other countries? AACS 2.1 discs are ridiculously expensive (or at least time-consuming) to make. So far Patriot and Fury were a a single-release "world" version. The main movie has all possible language tracks, both audio a...

Re: Avengers 4 endgame

Is there a different ripping software that might be worth a shot? There is AnyDVD and DeUHD you can use if you are willing to pay for them. With AnyDVD having a bit more inconsistent UHD support (key support is a little lacking). I use these two as backups. DVDfab is also out here, but I don’t use ...
