Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware

Because, my drives are dedicated. The LG is the burner, the ASUS is the reader. I don't need the burner to be able to read. And if one day it happens to have an 1.04 or more, i'll update it. But the reader, it will stay forever with 3.02.

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware

For this specific case, i'll keep it, because i use it as burner, so i want it to have the last FW. My reader is the ASUS 16D1HT. But this post was just to warn people. It seems that LG drives are more up to date than ASUS, for now, even if according what's said here, they are the same...

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware

Just to warn :
I've ordered a new drive a few days ago, manufactured december 2017, FW 1.03. So, recent drives allready have the last FW not working anymore on UHD disc.

Re: UHD drives

Probably not, because the last FW is very recent, and the whole process of fabrication, storage, sending to receler etc... takes time. So drive manufactured right now with FW 3.03 (and if drive manufactured right now are with FW 3.03) will probably not be in the market before a little while, but, do...

Re: UHD drives

Yes if you have a 3.00, 3.01 or 3.02 firmware. Firmware 3.03 fix the loophole, and if you have an old disc with FW 1.xx, it will not work also.

Re: Unable to read UHD with friendly drives

My new BW-16D1HT just arrived, this one was manufactured in june 2017, and was with FW 3.01. I've updated to FW 3.02, and everything is fine. So, the result is that if your BW-16D1HT is "too old", and has an 1.xx FW, you can't use it to read UHD discs, and you can't also force an upgrade t...

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware

Re: Unable to read UHD with friendly drives

As i had several drives, i've tried to force the FW on the 16D1HT. I've first used the patched FW programmer to force FW to 3.00, and then update with 3.02 from Firmware HQ. It worked... At least, the FW update part, but now, the drive is dead... :( It's clear that 3.xx FW are not meant for drive wi...

Re: LG BH16NS55 Firmware

There is a new 1.03 FW for BH15NS55, but... There is a huge risk it will fix the loophole.

Hello.

I'm thinking about buying a license, but the PC it will be used on is totaly offline, and will never be connected to internet.
Is it an issue for license activation ?
