I'll answer my own question. This is the udev rule that works for me: SUBSYSTEMS=="scsi", DRIVERS=="sr", ATTRS{type}=="4|5", GROUP="optical", RUN="/sbin/modprobe -bv sg" I registered for the site just to say "Thank You!!" Worked like a cha...
