Re: Custom firmware

The sleep bug is really overhyped and in my opinion does not warrant cross flashing the drive and having it be picked up by MakeMKV as as an LG drive when in reality it’s an ASUS. Any speed difference is negligible all these full sized drives will ramp up and may touch 8.0X but then settle down to a...

Re: Custom firmware

Do we all agree that the sleep bug has not been fixed with the release of ASUS firmware V3.10?

Re: The program can't find any usable optical drives.

Hmm, ok then, my answer won't apply in this situation but if there's an external drive involved it's definitely something to try :D

Re: The program can't find any usable optical drives.

The answer: and I explain this to customers all the time. When using drive in an enclosure don’t run makemkv until you’ve put a disc in the drive, closes the tray, and hear the drive start to read the disc, you’ll hear it making noise, like. 5-10 seconds after closing the tray. Then run MakeMKV it’l...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

The sleep bug is still present in the current ASUS firmware. I’m not quite sure why such a big deal is made about it. Seriously how hard is it to start a rip within two minutes??And set a timer on your phone to come check the rip in 40-45 minutes from when it starts. Totally valid workaround.

Re: First unrippable disc ever - no solution

Way cool that drive is museum quality. I had a v1.00 drive built 12/2015 didn’t work for shit :-( Flashed it immediately turned into a brick. Returned it to Fry’s in its bricked state with not a word said. I’m happy to make you a crackin’ deal on a new drive sir. I PM’d you but if you can’t get it I...

Re: LG BP60NB10

I'm sorry all the replies consisted of Marty and I going back and forth. Returning it and getting something else sounds like a good plan. Check out the BU40N in the Vantec enclosure :-)

Re: LG BP60NB10

I don't, but if one comes across my desk I will try it.

It should be noted that a BP60NB10 is a poor substitute for a BU40 in a Vantec case, IMHO :-)

McNuts I thought this was the breakthrough that was brought to us by you not two months ago. The ability to flash the BP60NB10.
