Re: Pioneer optical uhd drive

Re: DVDs not ripping

I have had the same problem consistently. Maybe three of the last 12 or so DVDs I tried to rip would rip properly, and the usual symptom was the spinning with no progress being made. I'm wondering if this is due to something changing in Windows, because I haven't had this problem in the past. I did...

Re: New Blu-ray player/burner ?

The best blu-ray drives you can check out are the LG WH16NS40 or the ASUS BW-16D1HT. If you’re into 4K UHD viewing too, these drives can read 4K discs with the correct firmware. Personally I prefer big 5.25 drives with its own power supply. The bigger drives can handle ripping large files better.

Re: Frustrated trying to rip.

All discs for the most part open without issue and I am able to select main title and audio track. Sometimes they fail quickly, other times its after almost an hour of ripping. All discs are in EXCELLENT condition. NO smudges, "haze" or scratches. Also tried older 1.12.2 and 1.12.3 versions with la...

Re: Playing 4K HDR Bluray RIP directly

Are you sure that I can I run 4K HDR Bluray .mkv directly from HDD by plugging it to the TV. Is there any requirement of software etc. Your HD TV needs to be connected to your computer to play .mkv movies. The TV needs to be compatible with your computer. You’ll need a third party player like Power...

Suggest 4K UHD PC Monitors for Watching 4K Movies

I would like to hear recommendations and opinions for PC 4k UHD monitors to watch 4K UHD movies. I’ve first used the Search function for this topic but no results shown. I’m more interested in PC Monitors and not HD TVs. • What brand, screen size of 4k Monitor are you using and is the picture qualit...

Re: BD or UHD no longer work

So far working fine here on ripping blu-rays before or after the DEBUG: code 03DF announcement. On a Mac OS Mavericks, 2 versions of MakeMKV installed, v1.12.2 and v1.14.1 versions. I haven’t tried MMKV v1.14.2 yet. Using 3 Pioneer BD drives alternately. Pioneer BDR-207 DBK connected externally via ...

Re: Pioneer BDR-2209 experiences?

Yep the Pioneer BDR-2209 won’t be able to read 4K UHD discs. It was mentioned in another thread that Pioneer Optical Drives doesn’t work with 4K UHD. You’ll need either the Asus BW-16D1HT drive or the LG WH16NS40 with the correct firmware. As for general experience on the Pioneer BDR-2209, works gre...

Re: mac 1.14.1 problems

Tried MKV 1.14.1 on my Mac OSX and works fine in ripping Blu-Rays and DVDs. I’m using a Pioneer BDR-2209 UBK and Pioneer BDR-207dbk and works well with MakeMKV the past 5+ years.
