Re: UHD discs decrypting

Just to add to this conversation - and maybe someone can clarify what I'm doing wrong. Recently got some disks that were new enough that their keys were not in either MakeMKV / keydb.cfg. I used the FindVUK+DVDFab method to get the keys, and add them to the keydb.cfg file. It seems as if MakeMKV ju...

Re: When to upgrade MK firmware?

Why replace the MK 1.02 version with the MK 1.03 version in the mk-firmware-pack when 1.02 is better? Wouldn't you just retain the 1.02 version in the pack? Both of my WH16NS40 drives were flashed with version 1.02MK of this specific firmware for WH16NS60. However, the question remains: why make a ...

Re: Stranger Things Season 4

Any tips on spotting homemade. It used be easy with discs having that green tint meant they were home burns (these look like normal silver) Check if the discs have any sort of copy protection with MakeMKV. Some legitimate 'made-on-demand' discs may lack conventional copy protection, but DVDs will g...

Re: The quality of the MKV differs from the original

Why would I do stupid things. I explained the utility of testing a repackaged file was to determine if something may have gone wrong with the M2TS to MKV step. I'm sorry you don't see the difference between original and rip. Believe me, I'm much more sorry that you don't understan...

Re: The quality of the MKV differs from the original

tsMuxeR more or less copes with this task, but it does not make MKV. Because there is no re-encoding or quality loss in remuxing a Blu-ray to MKV, it sounds like your playback software may be handling Matroska files differently from M2TS. As a test, why don't you try to have tsMuxer remux your MKV ...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

Confirmed and fixed in SDF v87. Several drive models were affected with the same symptoms - MakeMKV failing during drive scan and frequent drive connect/disconnect messages. MakeMKV should download new SDF file automatically. Thanks a lot for help. Thanks for the update Mike! SDF v87 is working per...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

You are getting a fatal error with SDF v86???? Did you try disabling LibreDrive for your drive? Please email/PM me, I'll ask for a log file for troubleshooting. Thanks! I tried SDF v86 with my BDR-XD05 last night and I did encounter a fatal error. I've attached the log file from the fatal error ses...

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives

As of SDF v083, my Pioneer BDR-XD05 (3.00) is now LibreDrive compatible. Unfortunately I'm not having much luck with it. If a standard Blu-ray disc is inserted when starting MakeMKV, a fatal error occurs (screenshot attached). Loading a disc after starting MakeMKV also fails but no fatal error messa...

This drive doesn't support UHD.
UHD aside, unless I misread Mike's initial post, I thought it would now support LibreDrive as one of the RS8xxx drives. My experience with an older BDR-XD05 on the RS8231 platform is similar:

Re: Using LibreDrives Unrestricted Read Speed in Other Software

Thanks for detailing your process SamuriHL, I'll keep it in mind. I noticed an alternative decryption tool reports my Region 1 drive as being Region 1-8 after enabling LibreDrive (presumably due to "DVD all regions"). I needed to shut down my computer to restore the single original region ...

Using LibreDrives Unrestricted Read Speed in Other Software

Hi, I've recently started backing up my DVD collection to ISO images using a non-MakeMKV program (I'm retaining menus for now but will definitely use MakeMKV in subsequent stages). My WH16NS60 can rip most dual-layer DVDs in 20-25 minutes. I've noticed that if I open a DVD in MakeMKV, and begin the ...

Re: Attention. Ver 2.1 protection out

Hi all, reading all this i find it a bit confusing to understand the current status.. Does makemkv support 2.1 right now? And what is trying to "talk home"? The user friendly uhd drive from an online connected pc? I mean, if an mkv is created and played with online connected lets say kodi...
