Re: LG BH16NS40 bricked?

Just installed the drive and this happened. I quote my other post in the Guide-Topic: Hi, I tried to flash my new Asus BW-16D1HT to enable it reading UDH-Disks. It came with the 3.10a software. I used the Ultra Hax0R-Guide from Youtube linked in the first post. I opened the BH14NS40_N1.00-A4_patched...

Re: Ultimate UHD Drives Guide Updated 2019

Hi, I tried to flash my new Asus BW-16D1HT to enable it reading UDH-Disks. It came with the 3.10a software. I used the Ultra Hax0R-Guide from Youtube linked in the first post. I opened the BH14NS40_N1.00-A4_patched.exe from the Downgrade Enabled Firmware V.2 folder and selected the DE_ASUS_BW-16D1HT...

Re: LG BH16NS40 bricked?

Lets hope so. :D May I ask what blurays you use to determine whether a drive works or might be defective? or does it even matter? Is a 50GB-BD for example suited whatsoever and the movie has no effect? Or are there movies better than others? Of course I want to test it with all the possible types. T...

Re: LG BH16NS40 bricked?

How do I detect a defective drive? the problem I have with slim drives is the slow reading speed. At least I would like to try buying a desktop drive, if it doesn't work I return it and can buy an alternative. So theroatical speaking, if I buy an ASUS BW-16D1HT and it works just fine I'm able to fl...

Re: LG BH16NS40 bricked?

Thanks, but first I will try do get my hands on an IDE-capable pc. But nonetheless: I will have to buy a new drive if I want to read UHD-blurays. My old drive won't work whatsoever. So I'm asking: The ASUS BW-16D1HT will do the job, right? And no matter what firmware the drive ships with I'm able to...

Re: LG BH16NS40 bricked?

Ok, thanks!

Unfortunatly, it appears that my motherboard (Asus Prime X370-Pro) doesn't support IDE-mode. Only AHCI and Raid... I think this whole operation won't work with AHCI, right?

Re: LG BH16NS40 bricked?

Thanks for the quick reply! I just want to make sure: BH16NS40 is not the same as WH14NS40, isn't it? But theres a link to that tutorial https://club.myce.com/t/dosflash-v2-0-patched-to-support-bh16ns40-bh16ns55-drives/399911 To be on the safe side: This is the right way to try fixing my broken drive?

LG BH16NS40 bricked?

Good afternoon,

first of all, I think I screwed up.

I have an LG BH16NS40 with the SVC code NS40.

Now I tried (and did) to flash a firmware with NS50 and now no Bluray is recognized at all.

Is there still a possibility to save the drive and maybe even make it UHD-ready?

Evaluation period has expired

Since a few days I experienced two errors/warnings which made it impossible for me to use the program. The first one is "Evaluation period has expired. Please purchase an activation key if you've found this application useful. You may still use all free functionality without any restrictions." I hit...
