Re: V for Vendetta
So upgraded last night and the first attempt failed, couldn't read a particular sector when loading the list of titles. Cleaned it again (3rd time since I had the disc) and then magically I got it to read and rip, still took a long time to be recognised by the drive but it got their in the end. Same...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri
I have a Asus BW-16D1HT running 3.02 and recently started to see it was having issues reading new discs and so have been looking at upgrading the firmware to 3.10. Just want to check do I just run the Cross-Flash tool and select ASUS-BW-16D1HT-3.10-WM01601-211901041014 in the MK folder? Seems very s...

Re: V for Vendetta
Looks like I need to update my drive to 3.10, currently on .02 and seem to be getting more and more problematic discs.

V for Vendetta
Anyone tried V for Vendetta yet? Lots of problems getting my drive to detect the disc, lots of cleaning and still only once in 10 attempts will the drive acknowledge a disc in the drive. When it does recognise the disc I see errors like: Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID COMMAND OPERATION ...

Re: Back to the Future won't read on my ASUS drive
Man just want to say, thanks to the advice on this thread I have now been able to rip a bunch of discs in my collection that would just fail, not get recognised or produce some kind of error. I have managed to get all of those ripped over the last few days. Now feeling a bit better about having the ...

Gladiator AV sync
So I have had loads if issues trying to rip this since the day it came out, every now and then i would give it a go and it always failed. Today however I used the method of cleaning a disc that was in the BTTF ASUS drive thread and it completed the rip, very slowly, like almost just shy of 2 hours b...

Re: M:I 6 - Fallout UHD
I had loads of problems with 2 copies of Fallout, in the last few days I have learnt some discs just need some serious cleaning: This is some advice from the BTTF thread which is working on movies that I have been previously been unable to rip, heck it even did Gladiator today, had it since the day ...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.3
So can I just confirm something, is MakeMKV creating a single or dual layer file? And is it single or dual layer that Plex now supports? They are single track dual layer files. Plex supports it, but the more important thing that matters is whether the hardware that runs Plex supports it. Thanks, is...

Re: Back to the Future won't read on my ASUS drive
This isn't a firmware or drive problem. There is a thin film on the bottom of the discs left over from the manufacturing process which causes these read errors. I put some 99% isopropyl alcohol on soft toilet paper and carefully but firmly wiped across the bottom of the discs. After the alcohol eva...

Re: Mission Impossible 2
I did all MI movies last week, the only one that gave me an issue was Fallout and I have two copies of that and both were unreadable. I managed to rip one of them by downgrading to 1.15.1. Yeah I can't rip that one either. I can't downgrade because I want to preserve the DV information. You can dow...

Re: No disc Inserted
I seem to be getting this a lot too, starting to think I should get a new drive, but last week I managed to rip a whole bunch of films that kept failing buy using the cleaning method that often gets recommended on here. Get a large dish like a baking or roasting pan. Fill it with some water and then...

Re: DTS-HD MA Stereo comes in as reg DTS in Plex
Interesting I am finding that all the Shout Factory discs I have the stereo DTS HD MA track always plays back as DTS Neural X, I see this on both my Oppo 203 and Plex via the Shield. The AVR (Denon 2300) actually says that it is getting a DT HD MA track but the output signal is only DTS. If the disc...
