Re: BU40n differences?

Are you really gonna ask what firmware works with it? Do some reading man, i alone posted just 6 posts above with the firmware i flashed it to..... No, I can see what you posted above, but there are several variations of BU40N, eg with and without UHD logo on front, I asked which version you have. ...

My BU40n does not have a -x letter Does your BU40N have the UHD logo on the front? I've just ordered one with the UHD logo, just curious as to what firmware works with it. Re: UHD Disc Weirdness

What happens when it fails? I think I have the same issue. Mine will get so far with uhd then crash out of makemkv, needing a power cycle of laptop and lg NS60 drive

LG WH16NS60 driver win10

My drive seems to have installed a driver from 2006 stating it's a DVD/CD-ROM drive, does anyone on here know of a newer driver? I cannot see anything on the LG website similar story here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/my-lg-wh16ns60-blu-ray-drive-is-only-recognized-as/286dd7c...

Re: Just flashed LG WH16NS60

This is weird, the drive seems fine with standard blu-ray, but as soon as I put in a UHD blu-ray (Ready Player One) it starts playing up. It recognises the disc and start ripping in makemkv but fails

Re: Recommended drives (2019)

Depending on your size preference the LG WH16NS60 with original firmware version 1.00 reads (rips) at 8x is currently tied the LG BU40N slim drive (running it's original version 1.00, rips at 6x, and ships in a righteous little enclosure) for THE drive to have right now. Do not accept cheaper subst...

Re: NEW OPTION: 'UHD Friendly' Firmware Downgrade / Cross-Flash Using Official (Modified) ASUS Flasher for ASUS & LG Dri

The first link is for the modified flasher and firmware. This is for people that have not previously downloaded the DE (downgrade enabled) firmware. The second link is for just the modified flasher. This is for people who have already downloaded the DE firmware. Newer drives generally come with unf...

Re: Just flashed LG WH16NS60

The drive has been working fine with standard firmware and now runs fine with ASUS-BW-16D1HT firmware, wouldn't that indicate power is okay?

Re: Just flashed LG WH16NS60

Yeah an OWC Mercury Pro case, I've tried a different cable. If I reboot laptop and drive it picks it up again. MakeMKV runs for ~8 mins then the drive seems to shutdown and not be recognised (Windows 10), makemkv then shows no available drives. I've just flashed with the ASUS-BW-16D1HT firmware to s...

Just flashed LG WH16NS60

Hi,

I've just flashed my LG WH16NS60 with 'HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.01-NM00100-211711202000' and all seemed to go well. The drive got halfway through a BD backup then crashed and is now not recognised by my laptop. Anyone any ideas on what to do?
